Welcome to the Theatre is a track that plays in the area before the raid where the players prepare their gear for the challenges of the raid. My version, along with all the tracks from this album, are heavily abridged to only the good parts with heavy attention put into the small details of the guitar riffs, time signature changes and the general flow and structure of the entire record.

There'll be a small lore blurb of each encounter I copied from the official OSRS Wiki because I really can't release anything without putting in the extra effort apparently.


"The Theatre of Blood is a raid located beneath the castle of Ver Sinhaza. It is a large arena used by the ruling vampyres to host blood sports. 

Here, the citizens of Meiyerditch are encouraged to go to the theatre and fight against the various experiments and abominations contained within, with the promise of freedom from the blood tithes and the right to leave Morytania should they succeed. The reward is revealed to be a ruse as the vampyres are unwilling to let go of their primary food source.

While the theatre is only open to citizens of Meiyerditch, this rule is rarely enforced. The vampyres are more entertained by outsiders than the citizens themselves, seeing as these are better prepared compared to the civilians who are inexperienced and poorly equipped."

Welcome to the Theatre

The first of 2 tracks, The Maiden's Sorrow is played before fighting the first boss, The Maiden of Sugadinti. This and the next track, The Maiden's Sorrow, will establish a 2-song pattern for each of the 6 bosses, one for suspense and the other for the actual fight itself.


"The Maiden of Sugadinti is the first encounter in the Theatre of Blood. She was formerly a human known as Serafina. A myth was spread by the vampyres that she had successfully completed the Theatre of Blood and was granted freedom from the vampyres; however, this was simply a ruse to instill false hope into the citizens of Meiyerditch so that they could provide entertainment for the vampyres.

As Serafina, she cared deeply for her brother, and she was willing to do anything for him. A vampyre offered to save his life in return for both of them being experimented on, which she accepted. As a result, her brother was transformed into the Abomination, while she was warped into the Maiden of Sugadinti, with her mind no longer her own.

It is presently unknown how she is connected to the entity Sugadinti."

The Maiden's Sorrow

While the BPM is staying the same, the more intense and deliberate riffs compared to the previous track signal that the fight has started. The song is also more rounded, with a slow start that builds up to the chorus and the guitar solo, and having a small release of tension before transitioning directly into the next track.


"The Butcher is an erratic vampyre who created the Pestilent Bloat, an undead monstrosity made from dead body parts of various creatures, for Verzik Vitur. While his main goal in making the Bloat was to please Verzik in hopes of receiving a reward, his notes also suggest that he feared a punishment from her if he did not succeed.

When he reported to Verzik Vitur's chambers to show her his creature, he found her chamber empty except for her Nylocas; he then became fearful that he had witnessed something he was not meant to see.

Despite the disjointed and seemingly incoherent nature of his writing, the Butcher hid messages within his book, with a sequence of unusually capitalised letters warning the reader not to trust "her". Additionally, a few lines of apparent gibberish are anagrams, which, when unscrambled, state that Serafina was betrayed, Verzik Vitur is dead, and that the Nylocas will rule."

The Nightmare Continues

My version of The Nightmare Continues is a bit slower than the rest to let the listener breathe from the high intensity of the last song, and to set the energy lower as there is still multiple high intensity tracks coming up. The intention with the lighter guitar riffs is to get the feeling of "foreboding" to set the vibe for the next boss, the Pestilent Bloat.


"The Pestilent Bloat is the second encounter in the Theatre of Blood. It was created by a crazed vampyre known as "The Butcher" upon Verzik Vitur's request.

According to a book titled The butcher, the Bloat was created by using three giant heads, an ogre's corpse, four buckets of human blood, two cyclops arms, two catablepon legs, an apple pie, and a sense of pride."

A 2025 remake of an odd little acidy instrumental from 2006's Sonambulism.  I suspect I was listening to hardfloor at the time!  Tidied it up, mixed so it doesn't distort -  and added some vox / vox effects.  but mainly kept it as a groove.  
not sure what i was hoping, planning or actually leaving behind back in 2006.  but it's a fairly common theme.  One of the first tunes I fell in love with was Ride's Leave Them All Behind.  This sounds nothing like that - but would have been influenced in the title!!

This is a reworking of the track 'Lighter Fluid' from 2006's Sonambuilism.  Th original is pretty much intact - except cut down from the sprawling 9 and half minutes - meandering trip hop with no hook or direction!!  Here we've got some dance vocals meant for about 135 BPM, feeling much more thoughtful and intimate when brought in at 100 bpm. 

echoes of imogen heap's hide and seek in here - not just because those words are in the vocals. though no vocoder has been used.  just waves harmonies, which is damn excellent.
