We welcome SVNTH:CRCL to the Yellow family of Sub-Label Recordings. On his debut EP - ASPECTZ, SVNTH:CRCL showcases his own take on the different sides of Drum and Bass music that he fell in love with. 

Cold Blooded shows some techno influences with the relentless synth that builds tension throughout and doesn't let you off the hook. The spacey atmospheric track, Puppets, keeps the mood going with its sizzling bassline and hypnotic synth sounds. Devouring Shadows is a dark, atmospheric tune with a bass that gives a feeling of claustrophobia with a haunting synth that sets the scene. Friction is a groovy dance floor track with precise breaks, driving percussion and a funky baseline. And Full Throttle is a serious, hard-hitting dance floor tune with energetic vocals and slamming bassline.

Sangoma Records proudly presents “The Seed”, an anniversary special to celebrate our 100th release assembled by label heads Emiel and Daksinamurti. It features an all-star lineup from the label roster and friends to showcase the current state of the art. For this release, we collaborated with the fantastic Joe Vaux. It is a true honor for us to have Joe, a humble painter, and a director on the legendary Family Guy tv series, whose art is also used as the work of a character named Goliath on Syfy channel's Resident Alien. This 17-track release can show a glimpse of our repertoire and we assure you it will keep you moving and grooving in the quintessential sangomesque fashion. We want to thank everyone who has been supporting us on this path.

The 100th release, crafted by label boss Nostic and titled 'Living in a Hyper Reality', is a 4-track EP that reflects the label’s ethos and explores the concept of hyperreality. With 4 diverse mixes, it showcases Nostic’s signature style and the expansive dimensions of the Hard Trance sound.

Prolific Detroit music makers Zo! and Tall Black Guy reunite for magical new single Sacrifice. Fronted by vocalist-songwriter Debórah Bond, the record is a suitably deep and soulfully sophisticated outing to mark 100 releases ‘not out’ for the ever-engaging Foliage Records imprint.

Sacrifice builds on Zo! and Tall Black Guy’s undeniable studio house and R&B alchemy across previous projects including, most notably, 2021 album Abstractions. Speaking to the importance of selflessness in friendships and relationships, Sacrifice is an intricate, life-affirming blend of atmospheric live drums, warm keys and sweet bassline on top of which Bond’s textured vocals soar defiantly upwards and outwards. The perfect century-making groove….

Lorenzo ‘Zo!’ Ferguson has been active since the early Noughties, 2001 solo debut album Ablyss leading on to a series of ecstatically received +FE Music released follow-ups Skybreak (2016) and Fourfront (2019) as well as a Zo! Remixed EP on Foliage’s sister label Reel People Music. He continues to tour, both under his own steam and as keyboardist and musical director for expansive, Grammy-nominated hip-hop duo The Foreign Exchange. Meanwhile, regular collaborator Tall Black Guy, AKA Terrel Wallace, has established himself as a true progressive within contemporary hip-hop circles thanks to agile drops over the past decade or so on labels including BSTRD Boots, First Word and Ubiquity. Washington DC-based Debórah Bond is perhaps best known for her critically acclaimed albums DayAfter (2003), Madam Palindrome (2011) and Compass: I (2021) as well as for performing with Incognito, Melba Moore and Ronnie Jordan. She also has Reel People Music pedigree, her sultry 2016 track You Are The One earning heavy DJ rotation in clubs around the world upon debut and more recently her feel-good collaboration with Fouk on the single Loving At First Sight.

Sacrifice is serious song and groove-craft that well deserves its scheduling as Foliage Records’ landmark 100th release. Coming from two immensely talented and versatile producers, and a supreme front lady in sparkling form, it is the perfect combination of soulful reflection and dancefloor drive. Totally in-keeping, too, with Foliage Records’ deep ‘n’ distinctive soulful sound, as heard on previous hit releases from the likes of Jimpster, Atjazz, Ralf GUM, Manoo, DJ Fudge, Rocco Rodamaal, FKA Mash, Sean McCabe, Turbojazz and N’Dinga Gaba.

Ingrained Instincts is a unique project consisting of Tilemachos Vlachos, and Dafy Deliangelos from Greece. Both have shared the same passion for Psychedelic music since their very early days. They met in 2001, formed a project together, and started to develop a different sound, but one totally sympathetic to the scene, and yet wholly psychedelic, and funky! 

After many years of experimentation, the Ingrained Instincts project was born in 2014. Their sound could be described as an amalgamation of many variations which don’t fit in one box – definitely different and organic sounding. For their production they use analogue as well as digital hardware, and are building their own modular system. Tilemachos also has a downtempo project called “Escape Velocity”, with releases on Spiral Trax, Sonic Loom and Eardream Music amongst other labels. Ingrained Instincts are signed with Sangoma Records and so far released on TIP Records, Nano Records, Future Music Records, Blacklite Records and more. Ingrained Instincts have been busy touring around the globe and have performed live at some of the biggest festivals of the Psytrance scene such as Boom, Ozora, Universo Paralello, Sonica, Antaris, FreeEarth, Indian Spirit, Kosmos and many others… 

This is one project you have to keep an ear out for, because before you know it you’ll be dancing away. Uncontrollably! It’s infectious.
