SUPERNOVA (Instrumental)

This one has a bit of a story actually. I was the producer for VOIDBLADE, a DigiPen Sophomore stealth platformer made in a custom c++ engine, but I also did most of the music/sound design for the game. This was a proposed track for the title menu, but ultimately it was left unused because it didn't match the rest of the music whatsoever.

Unlike many of the other unused tracks in the game files, DigiPen has no copyright over this (probably) so I can upload it without fear of any repercussions!

Reveka (Rebekah Parkhurst) started her musical journey at just 7 years old as a self-described "choir kid." It was through choir and piano lessons that she built a musical foundation in chords, harmonies, and arrangements. In her words, "music, at its core, is all relationships: how pitches relate to one another in timbre, time, and space." She finds beauty in the way sound interweaves and bonds in relationship to create an emotional, musical experience.

As a teenager she went on to study music composition, further deepening her understanding and appreciation for the art of creating something new. Discovering electronic music opened a whole new musical world for her as she was exposed to endless possibilities of timbre, instrumentation, and effects. 

Today, her music borrows from multiple genres, combining melodic and ethereal elements for a sound that doesn't try to be unique, but is still uniquely her. As she describes it: "If it has a strong melody and a lot of reverb, I'll probably like it."

Sound waves moving through your head that come from my brain.  Transmitted through undersea ethernet cables.
