On Resistance, Refusal, Ridicule, Leeds-based collective Fold doesn’t just ask the question—they build an answer, layer by layer, beat by beat. The track isn’t a protest song in the traditional sense. It’s a weaponized groove, sharpened with repetition and loaded with purpose.  

Fold taps into the power of language itself, collaborating with political messaging strategist Anat Shenker-Osorio, whose voice leads much of the track. Her words aren’t just commentary—they’re the rhythm of resistance, anchoring the song with the kind of persuasive cadence that authoritarian regimes have long exploited. But here, it’s turned back on them.  

The song leans into the science of message-making: say something enough times, and it starts to feel true. It’s a psychological phenomenon that Shenker-Osorio explains with cool clarity. We’ve heard it before—“Government is wasteful.” Say it often enough, and even the most skeptical minds start to nod along. Fold flips that script. Instead of resignation, we get refusal.
