RABBITHOLE

To those who have the care to read or listen, I am uploading snippets of a few of my old WIPs just for the sake of it!

I probably won't ever finish them (though maybe if you like them let me know and I might?), but in the years that have gone since my first upload, I have continued to produce in silence for my own enjoyment. I have a few things I have been working on this year that I am genuinely excited to finish and hope to take find the right way to release them.

110 Prog: Just a 110BPM Prog beat I produced earlier this year when I got back into production just to re-familiarise myself with the workflow as unfortunately 2024 didn't lend itself handy to have time for production, being without a studio! I like this track, its uplifting, soulful, and sweet, and hope you like it too!

Fifteen years ago I was collaborating with others online to make some music that I think was pretty innovative, maybe even ahead of its time; perhaps for a niche more than the mainstream but I was happy with where it was going.

Then, complex chronic disease took hold of my life and forced some tough choices about how to spend my energy, and had to set that creative dream aside for the most part, dabbling in it out of love here and there but not having the wherewithal to follow through.

But that changed again in 2024, when my illness progressed further, and wrecked my ability to do my day job, and now with time on my hands I find the creative sparks are flying again and that returning to music is doing me good. So some of what I’m showing here is a dusting off of old stuff from that earlier era, and some of it is completely live and improvised medleys with original words, off the cuff rambling and scat, or mix-ins with lyrics from other existing lyrics or poems on top of improvised musical arrangements. Listen in; you’ll find some of it is very raw but within it, you just might find glimpses of the sublime. (Not to brag. But you might. And you might also hate it to its core; I’m OK with that and I’ll still keep being me!)
