From playing and producing to recording and collecting records, I’ve been immersed in reggae culture for decades. After moving to Edinburgh in 2000, I co-founded StepItUp Sound with Mark (Karawane) and Skeets. We played together for a few years before they moved on to other projects, and I’ve kept StepItUp Sound going strong ever since.

JMGZMO is an electronic music producer hailing from Helsinki, known for his dynamic range of styles, from groovy tracks to experimental live performances. With over a decade spent exploring diverse genres and creative phenomena, JMGZMO has, since 2018, focused exclusively on using his modular performance synthesizer. This approach captures raw, unrepeatable moments of expression, embodying a deeply authentic and spontaneous sound. He is also one half of the Helsinki-based electronic improvisation duo, Dunning & Kruger
