Chicago Groove – A Love Letter to Deep House

This set is a tribute to the '90s—a time when House music bloomed from the underground clubs of Chicago and spilled out into the world with pure, unfiltered energy. It’s a celebration of simpler times, when the only thing that mattered was the moment: the people around you, the shared laughter, and the music that wrapped itself around you like a warm hug, moving everyone in a collective rhythm deep into the night.

Chicago Groove is a deep house mix that journeys through the soul of the genre—from the late '80s to the early 2000s, with modern-day tracks that still carry the torch lit during that golden era. Expect thumping, groove-soaked basslines, uplifting and soulful vocals, jazzy chords, and funk-laced rhythms. It’s the sound of serenity, the joy of feeling aligned with the world, and the bliss of simply being.

This mix isn’t meant to steal the spotlight, but to elevate your surroundings—to enhance the atmosphere whether you're dining with friends, dancing barefoot in your living room, or sharing wine and stories on a balcony at golden hour. It’s for the good times, the warm company, and the little pockets of happiness we live for.

The Inspiration
I found my love for music later in life, and ever since, it’s felt like a beautiful, whirlwind race to catch up. Each day I discover new sounds, and I’m constantly in awe of how artists mold frequencies into pure emotion. I didn’t even know what deep house truly was—until one night at Rick’s, my favorite bar in Bristol, when a vinyl DJ played a set that hit me like sunlight through stained glass. Everything turned golden. Laughter rang louder. Movements became freer. People looked more like themselves.

That feeling—that world—I wanted to live in it. So I made this mix to take myself there… and I hope it takes you too.

Hey, I am Fizz, Swedish and British gal🇸🇪🇬🇧
I started DJing about a year ago, and have since taken inspiration from vast array of music I explore at festivals every year.
