Jeremy... The man is mysterious, but less... 'cool' mysterious and more 'frustrating' mysterious.

He barely talks to his wife of quite literally 22 years, his daughter barely knows of his life and... He's not quite so sure he knows of his life himself.

You see... There was an incident with his younger brother. They wanted to celebrate his 21st birthday. This was new to them, considering how when their father was alive, they'd have a cake and then the day went on as normal. They didn't quite have the budget for more than that.

A real celebration with some good ol' fashioned drinks underneath the moon between two brothers... Two brothers that tried desperately to love each other.

Their father put a strain in their relationship by picking favorites. The younger one... looked like their mother, who died giving birth to him.

The older one needed so much attention that it was easier to give him a beating to get him to shut up.

The older one, was Jeremy. The resentful one.

The younger one, was Michael. The mischievous one.

Jeremy always hated Michael. He got everything he wanted all because he had his mother's emerald green eyes.

And didn't need to suffer the belt just because he was starving and needed a piece of bread, and didn't think it helpful to ask.

Times were tough, sure, but it was very telling that it was Mike who got the toys, who got proper clothes.

Michael didn't exactly fare out great either, things were tough on him too... But good ol' Jerry couldn't see it that way. But you know what?

That was the past.
It's time to move on.

They grabbed a couple of beers and got started on game night. Couple card games, a few dice ones too.

Mike... kept 'getting lucky.'
Jeremy couldn't take it, even when their father's gone the universe picks favorites?!

He got frustrated and threw a bottle. Mike didn't like it, as with any first-time drinker, he was somewhat more sober than Jerry and tried calming him down. But then the two argued. They did NOT put the past behind them. Instead, years of resentment from both fronts came out that night.
Jeremy called Michael an entitled spoiled brat who has it easy all the damn time.

Michael called Jeremy a self righteous prick who calls sulking and crying "Oh woe is me" hardwork.

Jeremy... had anger to let loose. He flipped the table and got up and left. Michael was going to chase after him, but considered taking a few breaths first.

Jeremy got his axe and began chopping wood, an activity he got into in high school to impress girls. It didn't really work. But it was good stress relief, chopping something meaningless into pieces that can be used later. Like for camping or when they need to grill something up.

Michael came to... apologize. Make things right. See things from Jeremy's perspective.

.... Jeremy, got really mad and-... and... behind Michael was a figure, with sharp teeth, big menacing eyes, a height and figure that made it blend in with the trees... and....

... The monster killed Michael. Its' claws ripped into him and crushed his head. And Jeremy was lucky he got away before it got him too.

No one knows of Michael's existence anymore. A few people asked, but... Eventually... his memory faded from everyone's mind. Missing posters went up but he never turned up. Thankfully, a woman named Grace managed to help him through those tough times... And they got married.

Only Jeremy knows what happened. And with his wife on a work-related trip, and his daughter, Emilia living abroad for College...

He had to go back to that place. The place he called home until the death of his brother. He needed to know what happened, the curse that befell them...
The curse that killed their mother, and his brother.

He needs to know.

He needs to remember.
Issue is...
Will he be able to face that monster?...
Or will he die to it too?
