Drum & Bass Mystery Mashup: September Inspiration - Vantablack Echo

The first recordings of this song in terms of the main themes are from 2013, that's when the ideas were born. Back then, Skrillex was a big deal! It started as drumstep and drum n bass, but my current style has established itself as hardcore, and it feels like it sits well.
The original theme's piano melody is something I fell in love immediately. For a contrast I wanted to build more serious and freeformy contrast, presented in the beginning. And the Shiva matra I added to remind myself of the awesome summer of 2024, kind of my personal little time capsule :)

I had a HUGE 8-year-pause in my production. This project implemented an unprecedented planning, order, clear modular ideas and an engineer-like approach to production and mixing, which have always been the hardest part for me in terms of theory and practice.

I would have liked to have vocals in this song as well, but I didn't have the resources to make it happen. Maybe some day I get back to it...? :)

I also appreciate my friends for lending an objective ear and critical feedback.
I was happy to have saved this project back in the day. I do think I got the underlying idea out with this one; in my ears it doesn't have to be the highest quality, as long as the idea is there. From all this, I learned that it'll all be alright, and you shouldn't take it too seriously :)
