A pivotal year, where rock and dance collided, a sonic orgy, the consecration of Happy Mondays and Manchester's baggy scene (the Stone Roses, The Charlatans, New Fad's,  James, Inspiral Carpets, and The Farm), Andy Weatherall's first remixes, notably those of Primal Scream, New Order, and My Bloody Valentine, the beginnings of Blur and Massive Attack, the first IDM tracks from Warp Records, the acid house techno of LFO, the KLF craze, the cool, jazzy hip hop of De La Soul and  A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, the noisy American rock of Sonic Youth and Pixies and the indie rock of The Sundays, House of Love, and The La's, the dream pop of Cocteau Twins, the emerging English shoegaze scene with Ride and the Pale Saints, the excellent hits of Deeelite, Janet Jackson, Depeche Mode, Soup Dragons, Beats International and Sinead O'Connor, and the magic Angelo Badalamenti's Twin Peaks, in short, the year that started it all for me.
Of course, everything is completely subjective!
