Every now and then I set myself a little challenge - try and showcase as many of my favourite tracks from the last couple months into a short, 30 minute mix for our biggest radio station here in South Africa, 5FM and this is the latest result. Endless appreciation for @daskapital for the opportunity to give these artists some play time on the national airwaves!

This mix is a full power BummelTechno session full of my top dancefloor bangers. Born on January 02, 1997 in Barlad, Romania , Marchidan Dragos found his passion for music when he was only 13 years old. At 16 years old he began to mix live at local or online radio from Miami (Evolution 93.5FM at show "Ibiza to Miami") and local radio (VIPP FM BARLAD) etc. After some weeks he began to mix in clubs like Club Iguana (Barlad) , Club Empire (Husi), Club Bliss (Vaslui) , Club Dublin (Barlad) and Ground Coffee & Lounge (Barlad) , Vintage Summer Lounge ( Barlad ) , Club Delirio (Cluj-Napoca) . Driven by a passion for discovering music; deacon has built a formidable collection spanning from downtempo through psychedelic techno to a deep progressive all containing a homogeneous groovy energy and impeccable sound design. Currently signed to @techgnosisrecords, he carefully selects tracks to create an eccentric narrative tailored to each event and lineup with one purpose: to introduce new sounds that bridge division and bring connection through sound and movement.

Driven foremost by a passion for discovering new music; Matthew Deacon has built a treasure chest of audible gold and has been sharing these gems with dancefloors for over a decade now.

A varying palate for sound led to the discovery of psychedelic techno in 2017 and prompted a rebrand under his namesake with a more focused sound. Hooked by the layers, depth, vast variety of sounds and intrinsic musical nature the genre presented led to the emergence of the soundscape we know as Deacon.

As time progressed he started discovering more music, artists and labels representing these similar characteristics; at a higher tempo there was deep/dark progressive, a lighter side of Zenonesque, and slowing things down with a reinterpretation of downtempo, akin to pitched down techno. And whilst these can be considered three distinct genres, they all hold a similar energy; with deep basslines, organic elements and impeccable production, and Deacon enjoys navigating between them. Carefully selecting tracks to create an eccentric narrative tailored to the event and lineup with one purpose: to bridge division and bring connection through sound and movement.

My musical journey started back in the late 90's, i was flat out into trance, spinning vinyl and burning up the wheels of steel. I spent my mid to late twenties in London when funky house music was alive and thumping. I got to play at some wicked bars and sweat dripping house parties with some incredible people. Now days, it's spinning tunes across multiple genres. Whilst trance is still right up there, I've spread my wings into progressive trance, tech house, techno, jive / disco / funky / groove / progressive house.  Love a dark dirty solid bass beat ranging between 120bpm through to 145bpm. That's the sweet spot 🤙Now living in New Zealand and always up for a gig with like minded people!

The music drives her, the talent pumps through her veins and the X factor can be judged by witnessing her command behind the decks. She’s no amateur either.
With years of solid crowd-pleasing experience, Missred’s star is on the rise. She has performed in front of the most demanding crowds in South Africa as well as Internationally. Playing at top class clubs & capacity festivals. Missred has also been featured as a regular guest on radio & television shows.

Miss Red was part of an all-female DJ agency which was founded and run
by Lady Lea.Divas on Decks consists of the best female DJ’s in South Africa. The agency is set to promote, protect and book female DJ’s to showcase her full potential and music styles.

In order to grow further as an accomplished DJ, Missred is also involved with hosting her own events.Joined forces with 2lani’s label – Do It Now Recordings as Events Manager. To add to that Missred also owned her own DJ School. This gives her a more intimate knowledge of the music she plays. Her passion fuels her ambition and she aims to release a few exemplary albums, with productions signed to overseas labels.

I’m up there, I share a part of my soul with the crowd and vice versa, without ever saying a word to each other.
