Always wanted the song that ended up as 'Bilbao' to go with the first three songs that have been released for years. Finally finished it and thought of recording other bits and pieces that were created around that time as well as a ditty I made up when I was 7 to go with them. First thing I remember making up.

Entry for BB104 Psychadelic version of Smashing Butterflies by HC Urblitz.
Rules: his time the theme is UK 60s Psychedelic Conquering.
Or with other words: The famous british invasion.
Create a track in the 60s-Style using typical bass, guitar and keysounds,
adding modern hard-bass-shots and fx-hits and combine rockdrums and funkbreaks.
What I did: took my track "Smashing Butterflies" and made it sound more "UK psychedelic style" by adding Indian Sitar, Indian drums, Fuzz and Wah Wah, and an endless guitar solo.

Blending a fusion of jangle pop, doo wop, indie, glam rock, alternative, grunge, new wave, Motown, surf and blues with psychedelic and avant garde ideas of sound effects and recordings of everyday sounds, Ricky Murray is quite the concoction. Tied up with lyrics that pertain to a songwriter that metaphorically wears his heart on BOTH his sleeves, it makes for spellbinding listening. He’s not pretentious at all for writing his bio in the third person and saying all this. When he’s THAT good, he has carte blanche to speak in the third person and assume the effects his songs have on the listener.  After some made-up ditties in the 1990s - ‘Teddy Bear Armbands’ and ‘Greg The Egg’ to name but a few – his songwriting journey (have to use the word ‘journey’ in a bio) began in earnest when he started playing guitar and writing songs, proper, in January 2002 with a ‘God Save the Queen’ rip-off – Sex Pistols song – called ‘Going Back to School’. He soon improved his songwriting, but it wasn’t until January 3rd 2004 on the same evening an FA Cup match between Southampton and Newcastle United was played and that he heard No Doubt’s cover of ‘It’s My Life’ on Virgin Radio that he wrote a song that was decent and came out naturally from within his esteemed being. Since then, he hasn’t looked back, unless it’s to the artists who inspire him to pen his deeply charged laments, all of which has led to the works of genius you can hear here. Hear, hear to that.

Techno, Ambient, Synthwave. Inspired by early 90s (Acid, (Hard, Progressive) Trance, Electro, Hardcore), Ambient / Space / Chillout, crossed over and combined with bizarre new elements.
The main ingredients are electronic, futuristic, bizarre, synthetic sounding elements. Mostly combined with some more or less hard techno beats in the range of 140 - 150 bpm.
Equipment: Moog Subsequent 37, Sequential Prophet Rev 2, IK-Media UNO Synth Pro, Roland / Studio electronics SE-02, Behringer 2600, Waldorf Microwave 2 XT, Native Instruments Reaktor, Reaper, a self programmed pattern sequencer, a self made drum machine in Reaktor, Eband Anda 88, Behriger Euphoria UMC1820
