Drømme om at flyve (væk), har alle tider været en udbredt metafor i musik og lyrik, meget selvfølgeligt da musik ofte er den perfekte vej til selvforglemmelse, dagdrømmeri og eskapisme. Sammen med sange om store følelser som kærlighed, venskab, savn og meget andet, har dette været det overordnede tema for Fugle På Træk, som jeg har gået og samlet numre sammen til, over de sidste par år. Alle numrene stammer fra LP'er og 7'ere udgivet i 70 og 80'erne, og er spillet af danske kunstere og grupper. De numre jeg har valgt ud bærer generelt præg af datidens æstetik, men de er også valgt da jeg synes mange af dem har en særlig tidsløshed i sig. Blandt de i alt 32 numre på mixet, stammer en del fra let tilgængelige udgivelser som ofte kan findes billigt i genbrugs- og pladebutikker, men hvoraf mange af pladerne desværre er oversete. Der er dog også en del mere sjældne og særlige udgivelser imellem, som ikke er digitaliseret, og derfor kun kan høres på vinyl eller på dette mix - for nu. Jeg håber du vil nyde musikken og måske dele det med nogen du tror kunne bruge det.

Julian M has been pioneering on the Romanian Electronic Music scene since 1999, when the clubbing movement was just starting to emerge.
After creating Future fm in 1998, the first pirate radiostation which promoted exclusively Electronic Music, his love for music made him get actively involved in organizing the first Electronic Music events on the coast of the Black Sea.

Julian also produced radioshows on various radio stations, most notably the Groove Hour on Pro Fm between 2005-2007, Beat Lab & Area Lounge on BIN Radio between 2014-2021, and was a resident DJ for many years in different venues, now relying on over 2 decades of mixing experience.
As a producer, he released materials on several labels (Glory Box Records, FIR Records) and was the first Romanian artist to appear consecutively on FOEM Electronic Youth compilations.

Besides regular radioshows and gigs all over the country, Julian M also played at the main festivals in Romania - Electric Castle, Untold, Neversea, Summer Well, MusicOutdoorExperience and lately he initiated a series of events using vintage cassette tapes and vintage equipment with new recordings, called Area Lounge.
Julian enjoys creating true musical journeys, his eclectic & melodic mix sets passing through a variety of styles, from Downtempo & Balearic to Funky, Soulful Deep-House & Progressive.

•	GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started buying records and DJing in 1996.
•	Established the Warehouse Manifesto (WM) record label and guest mix series.
•	WMR001 was released in February 2022 and is distributed on Bandcamp and Juno records.
•	Had the privilege of warming up for The Prodigy, on their European tour in cities such as Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg in 2015-2016.
•	First gigs were in my hometown of Mullingar in 1997 with Martian Arts, supporting the likes of 808 State and Sunil Sharpe in The Stables.
•	By 1998, I had secured myself gigs playing techno at the legendary Genius night @ Kitchen and also The POD alongside Warren Kiernan & Joe McGrath. I also played at Derek F’s acid techno parties @ Tivoli Theatre and 13thFloor/McGraths’ supporting Dave the Drummer, Chris Liberator and Lawrie Immersion.
•	Moving to Vancouver, Canada in 1999, I signed up with the Pound Recordings crew under the name ‘Dex of Hazzard’ and was resident at their weekly parties in The Palladium playing breakbeat and electro. I was also invited to play club Sonar and various raves around the city. I also played club Rebar in the city of Edmonton.
•	In 2001, I moved back to Mullingar and started a weekly hard-techno night called ‘The Beat Bunker’ in Daly’s in Mullingar, giving local DJs a chance to play in an intimate venue.
•	In 2003, the next destination was Bermuda. For the three years living and working in this scenic, secluded island, I co-ran the Calisthenics house music parties with DJ Andy Schnerg of Toronto. The Hip Therapy parties were a great success, being Bermuda’s only House and Techno night.
•	I started the Disco Nouveau parties in Mullingar in 2008. This monthly event was held in The Stables live music venue – hosting DJs like Sunil Sharpe, Fran Hartnett, Al Keegan, Niall Power, Barry Redsetta and even DJ Mes, label owner of Legendary US West-Coast house label Guesthouse!). This night ran for 4 memorable years.
•       Long-standing resident with Project Basement, based in Galway.
