Verse 1:
In the city's heart, where hopes have died,
Its shadow looms, yearning betide.
Devil of Famine, sunken eyes of hunger,
Feasts of barren, tears the soul asunder.

Chorus: 
Ride devil of starvation and dread,
These streets of despair, your will is spread.
Harvest the starved, the pawns you claim,
In your grasp, all shall wane.

Verse 2:
Amidst a blood-red moon, the sky cracks wide,
No grain to glean, humanity's guts denied.
With every tilt, the earth it groans,
Under the weight of skin and bone.

Chorus:
Ride devil of starvation and dread,

Bridge:
Weighing the scales, tilling this blight, 
The pangs of hunger, there is no might.
In the stilted gaze, an evil dwells,
A balance sought, its justice compelled.

A quart of wheat for the coin of Rome,
Three quarts of barley, apocalyptic proem.
"Yet harm ye not," the devil did chime,
Its voice in the center, "The oil and wine"

Outro:
The black horse rode, through Hell's gate,
A withered trod, it bore Earth's fate.
