As a child of the 1980s, this Mix is a little trip down memory lane. 'Our' Pete Tong was then called Udo Huber, moderated 'Die Großen 10' and made it a perceived life's work to record just one of the songs played without his announcements using the record function on the cassette recorder. The only opportunity for a clean recording was the hit panorama on Ö3, which ran at the weekend. Everything from Schlager, Disco, Chanson, NDW to New Wave could be found on samplers of that time.
Since drum machines were already widely used for productions, almost 40 years later there is now the possibility of mixing these tracks in a DJ set. If you always wanted to know where tracks like Tiga & Zyntherius - Sunglasses at Night, MC Hammer - U can't touch this or Anne Clark - Our Darkness (in the Hardfloor Version) have their origin, you might get a little enlightened while listening . A current track by Tensnacke also made it into the hour, but its 80ies vibe is so undeniable that it fits wonderfully into the whole.

Als Kind der 1980er Jahre ist dieser Mix ein kleiner Trip down Memory Lane. 'Unser' Pete Tong hieß damals Udo Huber, modererierte 'Die Großen 10' und machte es einem zur gefühlten Lebensaufgabe nur eines der gespielten Lieder ohne seiner Ansagen mit Hilfe der Record-Funktion am Kassettenrekorder aufzunehmen. Die Möglichkeit auf einen sauberen Mitschnitt bot einem lediglich das Hitpanorama auf Ö3, das am Wochende lief. Auf Samplern der damaligen Zeit war von Schlager, über Disco, Chanson, NDW bis hin zu New Wave alles zu finden.
Da bereits Drum Machines vielfach für Produktionen genutzt wurden, bietet sich nun fast 40 Jahre später die Möglichkeit diese Tracks auch in einem DJ-Set zu mixen. Wer immer schon wissen wollte, wo Tracks wie Tiga & Zyntherius - Sunglasses at Night, MC Hammer - U can't touch this oder Anne Clark - Our Darkness (in der Hardfloor Version) ihren Ursprung haben, der wird beim Zuhören evtl. etwas erleuchtet. In die knappe Stunde hat es auch ein aktueller Track von Tensnacke geschafft, dessen 80ies Vibe aber so unbestreitbar ist, dass er sich wunderbar in das Ganze einfügt.

Psylo Soundz is an audio engineer and DJ from the north side of Chicago. Being born into a musically inclined family, Psylo was exposed to music long before they came out the womb. As the daughter of a renowned Chicago DJ, Psylo has taken advantage of the musical knowledge that seems innately apart of their being. I experienced my first contact with Electronic music through a Happy-Hardcore-CD of my brother, which I came across by accident. I was fascinated by the speed and intensity of that genre. Through Sven Väth's "L'Esperanza" I got introducted to Trance and via Richie Hawtin's Remix of System 7's "Alpha Wave" to Techno. 1996 I had my early Club-/Rave experiences, which induced me to buy my first records. I started playing at private parties, till I eventually had my premiere rave gig in 1997. Together with my brother I'm also deejaying b2b (Da Brothers gonna work it out / Daniele d'Agnelli vs. Dyrtsta).

I always try not to submit myself to any stylistic boundaries. The audience always decides where the journey goes to.
