We're back y'all! This week we discuss an anime that is the headwaters for so many other pop-culture creations we love! Most significantly- Steven Universe! Revolutionary Girl Utena was way ahead of its time when first aired in the mid 90's! Its a fabulously queer surrealist story that invites curiosity and a psychoanalytic engagement. Its dreamy, disturbing, empowering, beautiful, and HILARIOUS. If you already know Utena we hope this is a cathartic conversation for you and if you're new to the show we hope it encourages you to give it a try! you won't regret it!

少し前に @hanmine.haru (Instagram) のおかげで、チップチューンを作曲できるプラグインを知って、ついに時間ができたので挑戦してみました！そして、これが僕の初めてのチップチューン作品です！✨

この曲は、僕が特に思い入れのあるアニメ「遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスターズ」のOSTの一部で、アレンジするのが本当に楽しかったです🔥

そして、親友の純和が描いてくれた闇遊戯のイラストもぜひ見てください！古い絵の具でセル画風に仕上げるのは大変だったけど、見事に完成させてくれました！感謝と拍手を👏

Il y a quelque temps, j’ai découvert grâce à @hanmine.haru (Instagram) des plugins permettant de composer en chip music. J’ai enfin trouvé le temps d’apprendre et expérimenter ce style, et je vous présente aujourd’hui mon tout premier morceau dans ce genre ! 🎉

J’ai pris énormément de plaisir à l’arranger, d’autant plus qu’il s’agit d’un titre issu de l’OST de Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, un anime qui me touche profondément ! ❤️

Un grand merci à ma meilleure amie Jun pour sa sublime illustration de Yami Yûgi, qu’elle a revisitée dans son propre style ! C’était un vrai défi avec de vieilles peintures peu compatibles avec le celluloid, mais elle a réussi haut la main !! Bravo 👏

A while ago, thanks to @hanmine.haru (Instagram), I discovered some plugins that let you create chip music! I finally took the time to learn and experiment with it, and this is my very first piece in that style! 🎉

I had a blast arranging this track, especially since it comes from the OST of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, an anime that's really close to my heart ❤️

Huge thanks to my best friend Jun for this amazing illustration of Yami Yugi in her own unique style! It wasn’t easy since she used old paints that don’t suit cels well, but she pulled it off beautifully! Bravo 👏
