Cosmic A7X (Red Hector AI Remix)

Here is my attempt at remixing "Cosmic" by my favorite band of all time, Avenged Sevenfold!  I took the track in a similar direction as the band, however, I added samples of a few tracks from throughout their discography that I felt would convey a change in perspective, from feeling lost without your other half to meeting once again in a realm beyond comprehension. Starting with "Warmness on the Soul", to represent falling in love, and being thankful for having met that person, moving on to "Dear God", to convey willing to do anything for that person, and finally onto "So Far Away" to represent that person meeting an unfortunate end with "Cosmic" being the climax.   I added some various impacts, slowed + reverbed the track, and took the opportunity to play a solo on the song with my personal guitar hero, the senator ;)  ***My intention was not to make the song "better" by any means! Just my submission into an awesome contest that the band is hosting!***

This song is remixed for an Avenged Sevenfold contest held in August 2024. Remix includes many parts of the beautiful original and complex Cosmic song shared by Avenged Sevenfold for the contest plus original voice, voice doubling, guitar/bass play and drum/sounds mixed by myself, Pee-Hell from Halfway To Death (HTD).The remix presents a whole new version of the lyrics with all parts taken from the original lyrics to keep M. Shadows voice singing it most of the time. 

Non-professionally mixed at home with Audacity and Bandlab. A7X gave me the motivation to start playing music again while I'm "halfway to death" in my 40s and motivated me to do home self-recording after watching their ''Breakdown'' series of videos on youtube. This remix is a big thanks you to the group to gave me back the taste of playing music.

Avenged Sevenfold - Cosmic (Halfway To Death Remix)

Cosmic by Avenged Sevenfold can be interpreted in many ways. For this remix, I came up with my own story that would go with how this remix starts and ends. I hope you enjoy my submission for the Cosmic Remix Contest.

Hundreds of years in the future, a group of explorers from another planet come across our earth. They are excited to see that they may have came across another planet with human life. As they approach they realize it has been left destroyed. They are unaware of the causes until they land and walk around to find shrapnel of what appears to be from a bomb. 

They don't know that our earth was destroyed by us. After countless of never ending wars, eventually nuclear war became the inevitable ending of life on our earth. 

They are shocked after putting pieces together, and seeing the remains of what was left behind after the bombs destroyed everything. 

As one teenager a part of the group is exploring a random house, he comes across a record player and a bunch of old records which looked similar to what they have in his planet. With no hope on it working, he still tries to make it work out of curiosity and to his surprise, he hears the record player struggling to play the random record he found that was somewhat not completely destroyed. 

After awhile of no sound he's about to take the record out until he hears a piano sound playing. It is the piano section of Cosmic by Avenged Sevenfold. He has never heard of this type of sound because where he comes from, there are no types of instruments. Any music he has ever heard has all been electronic or Cyberpunk like music. 

More sounds come out but the record is heavily scratched so he cannot hear the full song. Just some lyrics that he cannot even understand. After some exploration and collection of data with the group, they take off and bring their discoveries back home. Overtime they learn the communication, way of living, and everything that our earth and humans once were. 

The boy manages to fix the record the best he could with their technology but it wasn't the best. He could make out some words, and sounds but he was not satisfied. He finally decides to recreate the song himself with what he had available and came up with his "remix."
