1983 var året, hvor Metallica, Slayer og Mercyful Fate hver især albumdebuterede på fuld fræs med henholdsvis “Kill ‘Em All”, “Show No Mercy” og “Melissa”. Det var nyt, det var hårdt, det var vildt åbenbarende, og der var bare smæk på. 
Men de gamle og tunge drenge bed stadigvæk fra sig i ‘83: Ozzy, Dio, Sabbath, Lizzy, Motörhead, Maiden, Priest og Accept. Sidstnævnte med en sand metal schlager-slagsang i “Balls To The Wall”.
Studievært Jens "Jam" Rasmussen rocker året benhårdt igennem sammen med de tre top-kyndige studiegæster: Steffen Jungersen, Michael Stützer Hansen og Michael Denner.

Nedslagspunkter:

- Hardcore punken rykker i studieværten, der ser pogo, slamdans og stagediving udfolde sig til koncerten med engelske G.B.H. i København i marts ‘83.

- Efterfølgende undrer studieværten sig: hvorfor er der ingen bands, som kombinerer hardcore punkens aggressive fart med metallens tyngde og gnistrende guitarer? Svaret følger pronto med årets debut album fra Metallica (“Kill ‘Em All”) og Slayer (“Show No Mercy”).

- Steffen Jungersen glæder sig over det fede metalliske rifferama på “Kill ‘Em All”, mens Michael Stützer hæfter sig ved den energi og friskhed, der præger albummet. 

- Masser af interessante debutanter på den nye amerikanske metal scene anno 1983: Armored Saint, Exciter, Pantera, Savatage og Anthrax.

- Motley Crüe udvider fanbasen med “Shout At The Devil”; Twisted Sister mener det bogstaveligt med “You Can’t Stop Rock’n’roll”; Manowar spiller med metal musklerne på “Into Glory Ride”.

- Nye album fra Saxon, Iron Maiden og Accept. Vi går i dybden med sidstnævnte, der laver en af de ultimative heavy metal slagsange, “Balls To The Wall”.

 - AC/DC producerer selv “Flick of the Switch” til kernefansene, mens ZZ Top laver moderne boogie rock på mega-sællerten “Eliminator”.

- Motörhead får tilført feinschmecker guitarsoli fra Brian Robertson på “Another Perfect Day”, mens Robertsons gamle band Thin Lizzy afrunder i dynamisk stil med deres sidste studiealbum “Thunder and Lightning”.   

- Med “Pyromania” peaker Def Leppard som nr. 2 på den amerikanske hitliste, og giver et intimt show i København. Desværre er guitaristen Steve Clarke i problemer.

- Dio anmoder os på det kraftigste, om at komme op af stolen og skråle med på “Stand Up And Shout”, der åbner hans forrygende debutalbum “Holy Diver”. 

- Ozzy kommer solidt videre efter det tragiske tab af Randy Rhoads året før. På “Bark At The Moon” var Rhoads erstattet af guitaristen Jake E. Lee, der gik rent ind hos Jungersen og Stützer. 
  
- Black Sabbath forbløffer med Ian Gillan som frontmand på “Born Again”. Albummet skiller vandene. Jungersen og Stützer forklarer, og samstemmer: Sabbath og Gillan skulle altså ikke have spillet “Smoke On the Water” den aften i Falkoner Teatret. 

- Dansk heavy metal rykker med Pretty Maids og Witch Cross, som står på scenen til studieværtens metal koncertdebut. Op på motorcyklen og afsted.

- Vi afrunder i den dunkle og absolut metallisk mesterlige afdeling: Mercyful Fates genredefinerende debut album, “Melissa”. Michael Denner fortæller om tilblivelsen og det telepatiske samarbejde med Hank Shermann, mens Steffen Jungersen står for metalliske superlativer de luxe.

God lytning, og på tungt rockende genhør i metal-året 1984 om ca. 14 dage!

# 17 Heavy metal-genren i 80'erne, 1983 - åbenbaringer ad libitum

Henry, born in Haarlem the Netherlands, moves to Heerhugowaard at a young age and hears all kinds of music at home. Classic, pop, rock, jazz, gospel, easy listening. Dire Straits and Rory Gallagher, among others, are very popular with the music of his brothers. In the house there is usually somewhere a ukulele or a cheap guitar from the Wehkamp. The stringed instrument accompanies him from an early age and with some self-study he tries to play along. From 1981 the New wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) has been rolling firmly into his life. During the eighties he can be found at a lot of rock and metal concerts in his country. At the age of 15, Henry buys his first electric guitar with his father. 
Henry makes his first appearance on stage in the hard rock band Jack-A-Dandy from Heerhugowaard (late 80s / early 90s) and played at various locations in North Holland and as support act for Jewel, among others. They played their own songs but also covers of ZZ Top and Queen. During that period he also took guitar lessons from several people. With the focus on the electric guitar. Jack-A-Dandy quits after a few years and after two gigs with occasional band Fuzzle as part of Waardse Glorie, it becomes quiet on stage for Henry. From 1993 and he delves more into classical guitar and flamenco music . The love for music remains. 
After a long silence, he joined the poprockbluescoverband Flashback from Zaandam at the end of 2017 and played there for more than 2 years. Since the beginning of 2020, Henry has joined Blue Flame to focus more on blues and rock music. 
In January of 2021, inspiration and the spirit fill him with new creative ideas. With the purchase of a new desktop and, among other things, the software program EZ drummer 2, there are now possibilities to work things out at home.

SINCERE IMPOSTER is an intimate collection of artists who write, perform and/or produce a curious mixture of New Wave, Dance, EDM, Folk Rock, Metal, Art Pop, Electro, Dreamwave & Experimental World Pop. Collectively, it's a genre known as QUIRKPOP --- Music that tries to push the creative limits of traditional pop.

SINCERE IMPOSTER is curated by two musicians, both living within the same body, sharing a similar existence. They identify as Danielle & Dave. They are both psychologically and musically confused. However, both are extremely and unapologetically sincere. 

Influences include Weird Al, Nathan Fielder, David Lynch, Rosalia, Monatik, Atarashii Gakko!, Rammstein, T-Pain and T-Swift. Danielle & Dave's favorite inventions are the vacuum and the peach pitter. Their father is simply known as Vessel... who may be an entity or a god.
