DD, now behaving more like Agent Double D, didn't have time for Andrew Scoops.

She screamed,  "Screw you, Scoops!"

She turned her back, climbed the last rung to the upper-level window, and pressed her shoulder against the pane. It gave way from the frame, shattered, and glass sprayed inside the room and out onto the parking lot below. DD looked down, watching with contempt as Andrew ducked and ran from the scene.

LIFE RETURNS TO NORMAL - Or Not?

The following month was uneventful for DD and Andrew, but not for Cap and Ivory.

DD worked full-time at Hillsboro Beach during the long, hot summer days. The press, unannounced, stopped by the Candy Shack several times for interviews, but she declined.

She liked her job and was promoted to Assistant Manager for the next summer season, unsure whether the raise was due to her hard work or her status as a local celebrity. All the kids knew her name and begged for her autograph. It was exciting to have that attention, and several surfer boys her age started hanging around. They'd loiter outside, shuffle in the sand, and try to act tough, but they were intimidated. DD didn't pay much attention because she had other things on her mind ... A TALLAHASSEE ROADTRIP !!!
