‘my friend’ is a song the artist wrote many years ago, inspired by her childhood best friend. They met at the age of seven and spent many school years side by side. Her friend was often bullied, but later she transformed, finding confidence, light and strength. 

The song was born from a quiet moment of realization, when the artist witnessed this change and felt the weight of everything she had never expressed: her sadness, her truth. 

It is a song about friendship and the unspoken things we carry within us.

This is not a love song; it is the black box recording of a memory. Over piano, everything is cut into incomplete phrases and fractured sighs. Life is a borrowing, and time is the thief, leaving behind incomplete melodies and the low drone of an A2 note. Every collapse of sound and every wrong note is an emotional proof: Love is the kiss at the end, and existence is the proof of pain. Intentionally unpolished, the track allows the audio grain to decay, immersing the listener in an irretrievable private recollection.

These Geese

Fundamentally, “Word Garbage, Sent” tells a story of a ghost who doesn’t know they are a ghost; they’re just waiting for their crush to recognize that they exist. I wrote it two years ago when I felt really, really lonely. To me, it has lots of layers, yet I don’t make art simply for myself, which means how it communicates with you is what gives me the biggest joy. I also pushed some buttons, vocalized some things, but without my beautiful husband, my muse’s magic, it wouldn’t be possible, so thank you, Roge! And absolute genius Rob mastered it with love, for which I’m forever grateful!

 I’m at the point of my life where I can better understand the shades of punctuation marks, and some things are not replaceable, whereas others bring alternatives. Being an artist was never a choice for me because it is rooted in the answer to this question after all the traumatic experiences I’ve had since I was born: “Would you like to lose your mind or learn from your experiences to express yourself in creative ways?” So my songs and other forms of artistic expression come with the rawness of being human, complexity in the nuances, the depth that you may not always immediately realize, you might see it if you give yourself some time to think, and I’ve always truly loved art that I find relatable, because when I can’t relate, it does not feed my soul; I feel like I’m either being force‑fed or choked in the disengagement, where even misunderstanding does not give a definition enough for me to feel something, or anything.

Right now, this song means a lot of things for me; most likely they will shift and change, which is a neutral thing. I hope it can mean something for you too, and whatever that feeling is, it could make you feel seen and acknowledged, because overall, life isn’t short; often, time is.
