‘Fire and Stardom’ — the new two-track EP from Antic - Release date July 17th 

‘Fire and Stardom’ EP is a vivid return to the dancefloor displaying an array of energy and colour, from techno to disco, from brooding to hope-filled, from dark-room to sun-drenched.

The first track ‘Fire’ twists and turns between tension and release. Blending techno elements together with moments of synth pop. All-driven by a hypnotic, direct and power-laden groove.

The second track ´Stardom´is a burst of dry-humour and . With a wonderfully playful vocal by Zena Kitt, it plays with ideas of vanity and vulnerability. It weaves together soul and disco chords into frenzied loops that burst, fizz and then fall. All pushed along by a driving house beat. 

These two tracks are just the start of an exciting new journey for Antic — one packed with colour, optimism, and the unmistakable mark of musical maturity.

PREMIERE: Antic - Stardom feat. Zena Kitt

British producer Antic, though now operating from his base in Barcelona, continues to build a compelling and emotionally resonant catalogue. His work consistently defies simple genre classification, aiming instead to map the complex terrain of human feeling through sound. Following well-received outings on respected imprints like Logia, Clash Lion, and Anjunadeep, he presents the "Suffer in Silence" EP, coming soon on Dreamhouse Recordings. This three-track collection includes the titular piece alongside "Never Stop," a collaboration with vocalist Claudia Georgette, which is offered in both a Club mix and the Dub Version we are examining today.

The pumping Dub Version of “Never Stop” artfully strips back the composition to emphasise a compelling fusion of Post-Punk and Synthpop. The track is built upon a foundation of resonant, deep-set guitar riffs that provide a gritty, driving momentum. Claudia Georgette’s and Antic's vocals take on a more subdued, textured role, weaving through the arrangement rather than dominating it. These elements are enveloped by expansive, dreamy pads that create a rich, atmospheric soundscape. The final product is a cohesive and magnetic piece that channels the best of 80s-inspired, danceable melancholy, earning its place as a genuine Neo Disco treasure reminiscent of New Order's pioneering work.

The Why people dance question was asked for the first time in Lithuania back in 2013 but it gained a worldwide echo in its 8 years of existence. Run by @pauliuskamblevicius with the help of @experimentsserial and a network of collaborators, the online electronic music platform and label keeps its heart open for new friends and treasure finds but its filter tight and deep underground. For over two decades, Taffi Louis has struggled to write a DJ bio that doesn’t sound like AI-generated slop.  In that time the role of DJ has mutated away from the music enthusiast/curator to influencer/marketer. Defying simple categorization, his sets blend dark disco, new wave, Italo, presented  in the language of house and techno and steered into a fluid narrative, like an imaginary soundtrack for the movie version of right now..  His first gig in a local gay bar unexpectedly kicked off a six-year residency, mingling James Murphy with Giorgio Moroder, Bobby O with Vitalic.  Instead of chasing trends and the widest possible audience, he  built unique, diverse audiences with parties like Truckerdisco and Roboteria, centered around music first, not market segments. His era-jumping, propulsive DJ sets refuse to treat music as disposable, perfunctory filler.  His edits receive worldwide support from DJs like The Hacker, Italo Brutalo, Local Suicide, & more.

Ok, so im from Southampton, and spin trance and techno from early 90s through to early 00s. I have been collecting vinyl for nearly 25 years, but only started mixing again recently. I have never considered using anything other than vinyl, until 2021.

My main influence is mark eg. Seeing and hearing him smash dreamscape 21 was immense. An entertainer, a madman, and a damn good set builder, be it trance or techno. Always sought him out at events such as skelter, dreamscape, and the one and only country club in Evershot.

During the 1990s i travelled the country going to events such Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Hysteria, Devotion, Fusion, Tazzmania and Hardcore Heaven. The smaller events were always my faves. The Shire Horse in St Ives, Country Club, The Coven in Oxford and a little Club called Jollys  in Southampton. Listening to some of the biggest the scene has seen in its history. 

Old skool hardcore was my first love. Sterns, peace festival were tapes i used to collect. Around 93/94 i started hearing different sounds. They were of course, trance and techno. Dave Angel, trevor rockcliffe, colin dale, gayle san, mach one, warlock, colin favor,craig walsh. European sounds with UK and Anerican techno. Then the trance from europe, which had a different vibe. A euphoric sound which of course, went hand in hand with ecstacy. Hard sounds with uplifting breaks and undertones. Mark EG and M-Zones first ever set in the technodrome were massive points. DJs who were ahead of the game with the euro sound. Kenny Sharp and Vortex also pushing the more obscure stuff. How many unknown tunes are there to still be named from their sets???

I prefer to mix a more melodic slower trance set, as opposed to a fast trance set. Everyone knows the classics from back in the day.
