With Applause V.A. Vol. 2, the label continues its exploration of electronic music at the intersection of local and diasporic scenes. Curated by Matteo, this second compilation brings together both emerging and established artists from Europe, Africa, and the diasporas, with a focus on hybrid sounds and boundaryless rhythms.

Equally suited for club play and deep listening, the selection spans a wide range of aesthetics—from bass music to percussive techno, baile funk to Afro-Caribbean grooves. Returning contributors like Artem, DJ Travella, Blck Mamba, Lorkestra, and Hey Bony further anchor the label’s evolving identity, as they become increasingly connected to its booking agency and roster.

“As with the first volume, my aim was to capture a living and moving ecosystem,” Matteo explains. True to Applause’s ethos, the compilation acts as a bridge between diverse club cultures, highlighting bold and personal approaches to contemporary dance music.

This new compilation brings together a selection of emerging and established artists from Europe, Africa, and the diasporas, offering a sonic landscape that’s percussive, hybrid, and emotional. Artem, DJ Travella, Blck Mamba, Dariiofox, Lorkestra, Marge, and Hey Bony all showcase unique perspectives on contemporary club music — balancing raw intensity with rhythmic nuance.

Designed as much for DJ sets as for deeper listening, the compilation reflects Applause’s DNA: a curatorial and inclusive space, connecting underground communities, global aesthetics, and multifaceted identities. Among the standout moments, Leyka’s Beli—DJ and producer affiliated with Drama and Nuit Brune collectives—embodies that sense of freedom. The first single from the new Applause V.A. curated by Paloma Colombe aka Dihya, That’s It by Tatyana Jane sets the tone for a compilation built for the club and charged with emotional depth. Born in Douala and now based in Paris, Tatyana Jane is a Franco-Cameroonian producer and DJ, a rising figure in a hybrid scene where bass music meets off-kilter techno and African heritage.
Composed during a bootcamp in Los Angeles at a time of personal turmoil, That’s It unfolds like an emotional crescendo. An immersive ambient intro leads into a powerful drop filled with rich, organic percussion, blending ambient textures with tribal energy. Raw, danceable and visceral.
For Paloma Colombe aka Dihya, curator of the project, the choice was instinctive. “Tatyana and I have been following each other for a while, we’re among the rare DJ moms on the Paris club scene.” Beyond their connection, it was her warped musicality and unapologetically personal techno that stood out. “I love how she draws from her Cameroonian roots while staying fully and fearlessly herself. That’s what makes her unique.”
That’s It is a powerful first statement. An emotional banger that captures the DNA of this new compilation — a club sound that breaks form, hits deep and lets everything out.
