Finding a fear is easy enough,
your body turns cold and your head becomes dust,
When sullen thoughts breed foreboding thoughts fall.
You might lose yourself, give in to it all.

Give time for the present
Your hands turn to ice
When drowning in water you wouldn’t think twice

You’re thrashing and crashing ,
You’re starting to call.
You think they might hear you,
They can’t hear at all.

With lungs full of water,
Your gasping’s a vice,
That makes you sink deeper,
You’ve fooled yourself twice.

Will you find the surface?
Be wrapped in a shawl?
Or end up all washed up?
Feel you’ve lost it all.

Confiding fear is easy enough.
But searching for answers, it might turn you tough.
Or find yourself doubting the people you knew.
Cos you give to others what you want for you.

When feeling unpleasant,
Or rolling the dice,
You may learn they leave you,
To fight for their life.

If pushed from the barge,
Or find your boat sinking,
It’s all up to you.
You’re doing the thinking.

You’re losing your vision,
You’re paying price,
To start treading water,
You risked sacrifice.

So please, find your surface.
To hear the birds call.
You never were “washed up”.
You just risked it all.
