Berlin-based genderfluid DJ and producer ASA 808 is back with a new high-octane acid techno release, mastered by Moomin and out on the TOYS Berlin imprint.

Following their successful GROOVE and XLR8R podcast appearances, the release of their album "Boy, crush", a collaboration with Dark Sky, and the success of their recent singles "SOMA" („a divine climax“, according to DJ Mag) and "Love No Matter What", which collectively garnered 400,000 streams, ASA 808 is back with an offering that showcases their unique musical artistry and energy.

The first track "COLOR" featuring Séverine is a bold club music composition with an untamable energy woven around a decade-old vocal recording of the outstanding french singer, who already left her marks on ASA's recent album. With unexpected acid hooks and trance gate effects, "COLOR" takes listeners on an impelling journey filled with pulsating beats, surprising twists and bass lines.

The second track "BLIND" is a highly effective acid techno bomb that ignites dancefloors within seconds. With its forceful uptempo groove and acid bassline, "BLIND" exemplifies ASA 808's cutting-edge production skills, which have attracted attention from industry heavyweights such as XLR8R, TRAX, DJ Mag, Inverted Audio, Slothboogie, When We Dip and received support from tastemaker DJs including Avalon Emerson, Barker, Ben Sims, Marcel Dettmann, Pangaea, Perel and Tijana T.

It is no surprise that ASA was recently acknowledged as one of the "Best Producers" and "Best Newcomers" in Groove Magazine’s readers' poll.

@asa-808 lands on @toysberlin with their next two-tracker, 'COLOR / BLIND', the first of which featuring a decade-old vocal recording from French singer Séverine.

"I wanted to use this release (just before Black history month in the UK) as an opportunity to honour the Black heritage of house and techno and to point out how techno parties in Europe are often predominantly white, with many attendees unaware of its roots," ASA 808 says on this release. "I think it's crucial to honour techno's Black origins while appreciating its global evolution, preserving its cultural and historical significance."
