While the United States has submitted a comparatively humble defense budget, its AUKUS partners, feeling the pressure of China in the Pacific region, seem to be doing the opposite. Laura Winter speaks with Malcolm Davis, a Senior Policy Analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute focusing on space policy, security, strategy, and capability development; and Juliana Suess, a Research Fellow on Space Security, at the Royal United Services Institute, and host of the podcast “War in Space”.

Before meeting with heads of state, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told leaders from the Allied defense industrial base that more than two-thirds of the Alliance’s 32 member nations were spending at least 2% of the GDPs on defense. “So there is a good market outlook for you.”  To understand what the secretary general meant and this summit’s outcomes for the space domain, Laura Winter speaks with Malcolm Davis, a Senior Policy Analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute focusing on space policy, security, strategy, and capability development; Brig. Gen. Bruce McClintock USAF (Ret.), RAND Corporation Space Enterprise Initiative lead, and former U.S. Defense Attaché to Russia; and John Neal, Executive Director for Space Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

DJ Aspi. Im Jahr 1991 verfiel er voll und ganz dem treibenden Sound der Techno Beats. Zuert als Party People, 
aber recht schnell entwickelte und perfektionierte er auch seine Skills im selbst auflegen. Gleichzeitig wurde im 
Laufe der letzten 30 Jahre seine Plattensammlung immer umfangreicher, und DJ Aspi liefert bei heutigen Gigs 
sowohl „Old School“ Techno Sets wie auch mit ganz aktuellen Platten – aber immer „Pure Vinyl“! Ganz nach 
Wunsch oder Anspruch. Sein ganz persönliches Faible geht aber in Richtung Dark Techno. 
Durch seine immer größer werdende Liebe zum Techno schloss sich 1997 DJ Aspi mit zwei seiner Kumpels 
zusammen und gründeten die Techno Lover Gruppe „FSG“. Unter diesem Namen haben die 3, aber vor allem DJ 
Aspi, viele eigene Tracks produziert. Leider haben sie nie den Mut gefunden, ihre Produktionen auch an die 
Öffentlichkeit zu bringen. Erst nach dem Austritt eines der Mitglieder aus „FSG“ 2010 und der Namensänderung 
von „FSG“ in „SpurweXXel“ im Jahr 2013 fand DJ Aspi eine Plattform, auf der er seine Releases sowie die 
Releases des Teams „SpurweXXel“ veröffentlichen konnte. 
Bisher hat DJ Aspi 2 eigene EPs auf ℗ Nachtwandler Records released. Zu finden und käuflich zu erwerben sind 
die Releases auf Beatport (links s. Namen): 2018-09-10: Four Seasons EP & 2022-02-25: Playgound EP. 
DJ Aspi ist durch zahlreiche Gigs im Großraum Darmstadt-Dieburg und der Bergstraße bekannt. Seinen ersten 
Gig hatte DJ Aspi 1994 im Club „Hunters Gallery“ in der Kasinostr in Darmstadt. Danach folgten einige Jahre mit 
kleineren Gigs, aber ab 2009 startete er so richtig durch. Um nur ein paar seiner Gigs zu nennen: er legte unter 
anderem auf dem Darmstädter Heinerfest bei der bekannten Eventreihe „Katze macht Elektro“ im Schlosskeller 
auf, sowie auch regelmäßig im ehem. Club „Scene2“ in Zwingenberg. 2018 gewann er den DJ Contest von Harvey 
Club e. V. (Münster) und sicherte sich damit für deren Beach Club Eröffnungsevent eine der besten Playtimes. 
Seit 2013 ist DJ Aspi außerdem ein sehr engagiertes Mitglied im Darmstädter Radiosender „RadaR“, vorrangig in 
der Sendereihe „Clubbers Paradise“, von der er seit 2018 der Resident ist. Er kümmert sich zum Beispiel um 
Liveauftritte namhafter Gast DJs, wie bspw. DJ Hildegard oder Sophie Nixdorf, aber zu seinem B-Day im 
September kommt man alljährlich in den Genuss ein Live-Set von ihm persönlich hören zu können. 
Wir freuen und sehr DJ Aspi bei unserem WHAT Podcast begrüßen zu dürfen, und sind gespannt, mit welchem 
Sound er uns heute beglücken wird.

Welcome to Logical Miracle, a project where a lifelong dream meets the cutting edge of technology, brought to life by two passionate creators, one a musician and songwriter, the other an edu tech enthusiast who turns ideas into reality.

Like many, my journey started with big dreams as a child. I imagined myself as a musical genius, learning to play the recorder and later moving on to the violin and guitar. Back then, I had no idea how challenging the music industry could be. As life moved on, new adventures like jobs, holidays, and eventually starting a family took over, and my musical dream slowly faded into the background.

But the story didn’t end there. Over the past 40 years, technology has evolved in incredible ways, creating opportunities that were once unimaginable. Social media has reconnected us with old friends and memories, while AI and music software have revolutionised how we create and share music. The music industry, once an exclusive club, has had to adapt, leaving space for new voices to emerge.

This is where Logical Miracle was born, a collaboration between my love for music and the technical genius of my partner. For years, I wrote poems, not realising they were songs in waiting. Today, with the help of AI, music production software, and my tech-savvy partner, we’ve brought those words to life. The dream of working in a big studio isn’t necessary anymore; with the right tools and expertise, we’re able to create professional-quality music right from home.

Logical Miracle is the result of this collaboration. It’s not just a musical project, it’s a testament to the power of dreams and the possibilities that technology brings. What started as a simple idea has blossomed into something much bigger, a dream shared and fulfilled. Now, it’s time for our music to be heard.
