A Tale of Escape

Three original Atlantic reels, drawn from both sides of the sea.

This medley was born of quiet moments—walking Amherst Road, improvising in Cambridge, remembering sessions in Connemara—and became a bridge between two worlds. Each reel unfolds in its own time: one drawing you in, one turning sharp, and one letting you run.

These are not traditional tunes—they aren’t “Celtic” for its own sake—but they are of the Atlantic: a current of history, memory, and invention that flows between cultures and coasts.

What a night to remember 💫 — our first-ever Labyrinth HFX roadshow at Tide & Boar in Moncton was something truly special. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and filled the room with so much energy, warmth, and love. Seeing the Moncton community come alive on the dancefloor was pure joy — it felt like the start of something beautiful.

We were fortunate to share the stage with an amazing lineup:  Andy Klajman who opened the night with a deep, progressive journey that set the tone perfectly; @djmissbutler, who followed with an explosive, high-energy set that lit up the room; then Basem and I stepping up together for our first-ever B2B set, building a groove of Afro, melodic, and progressive sounds designed to connect hearts and move bodies; and finally, my brothers @Maqamm, who closed the night with their signature hypnotic flow and rhythmic drive that took us all home.

This set is a mix of  Melodic House & Techno and Afro House  — rich in emotion, rhythm, and soul. Each track was chosen to build tension, release, and connection — a journey from groove to transcendence.

Bio : Irish techno producer Simon Foran has put a lot of hard work into learning the art and science of sound and music technology; his studies have included spending two years honing his craft under the mentorship of Will Kinsella (Hybrasil) (Kombination Research, Loose Records, Bush Records).  
 
Since dropping his debut EP: “Nexus” on Dream Mode in November 2014, Simon has followed up with 2015’s “Daumenatron”, and 2016’s "Etymology" both on Dewing Records. Simon rounded off 2016 with his acclaimed "Cybersex" EP on Portugal’s Toxic Recordings, charting at number 6 in the Beatport top 100 releases. 

Not one to rest on his laurels, Foran is constantly in the studio pushing his boundaries with a distinct ear for detail. He has been moulding his dark melodic sound, a sound he showcases on his latest two track EP: Nihilus.
