You have probably heard of "Net Zero," the unrealistically ambitious target of having no net greenhouse gas emissions by some point in the relatively near future (2030, maybe 2050 at the latest). A report filed in 2019 by the prestigious government-funded UK organization of engineers and scientists, UK FIRES (https://ukfires.org/), thinks Net Zero is not enough and is pushing for an insanely aggressive program called "Absolute Zero" (https://ukfires.org/absolute-zero/), absolutely zero emissions by 2050. What does it entail? Among other things, no flights, no container shipping, no red meat consumption, no cement, no new steel production, and no fossil fuel use for any reason, even plastics, by 2050. How do they expect this to be possible? Draconian governmental action combined with drastic semi-voluntary reductions in individual quality of life for all citizens. Next up, Philth delivers a deep and rolling interpretation of Konflict’s ‘Roadblock’ that will resonate with both long-time followers and new listeners. Long-standing Hardware veteran Gremlinz takes the reins for the third track, offering a bold and inventive rendition of Ink’s ‘B-Boy Convention’. The EP concludes with the return of NC-17 to the series with his remix of Usual Suspects’ ‘ED 209’, providing a heavy perspective and closing the release on a high note.

With the complete album release scheduled for release in August, and the label fast approaching its 3rd decade, Renegade Hardware continues to be a key player in the drum and bass community, known for its commitment to quality and its influence on the genre.

Absolute Zero, real name Louis, is a 24-year-old mainstage EDM producer based in Leeds, England. Known for his euphoric and uplifting sound, Louis puts his own spin on mainstage progressive house by cleverly combining organic and electronic instruments.

Although comfortably nested in the festival electronic sphere, Louis takes his influences from a wide array of sources like classic rock, pop music, and video game OSTs. His background in classical piano and music theory training enables him to craft powerful melodies and create ethereal musical atmospheres.

His latest track 'Fade Away' together with RetriBution, is a direct callback to the golden era of EDM, where euphoric progressive house took centre stage in the scene. A movement once dominated by Swedish House Mafia and Avicii, Louis aims to restore interest in a pivotal chapter in the evolution of modern dance music.
