Lorwen Harris Nagle is more than a clinical psychologist and abstract artist—she is a visionary whose creative canvas transcends conventional boundaries. With over two decades of professional experience in clinical psychology, Lorwen has pioneered innovative methods to help individuals conquer anxiety, nurture emotional intelligence, and unlock their latent creativity.

Armed with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from UT Austin and a post-doctorate from Harvard University, she seamlessly blends therapeutic expertise with artistic finesse.

Learning about Lorwen's venture into the world of art was truly inspiring, especially as she shared delightful insights during My Fantasy Cultural Year game.

Lorwen's journey has been defined by a deep dive into human experiences and cultural diversity. Her work with immigrant communities, particularly Mexican Americans and Tibetan refugees in India, has not only enriched her understanding of the human psyche but also provided a wellspring of inspiration for her artistic pursuits.

In the early 2000s, Lorwen's path took an unforeseen turn when she embraced visual art. Initially drawn to landscapes and seascapes, she refined her skills under the guidance of the esteemed plein air teacher, David P. Curtis. Together, they crafted a unique approach that fused technical precision with emotional depth, setting the stage for Lorwen's artistic evolution.

However, tragedy struck in 2021 with David's untimely passing, propelling Lorwen into a period of deep introspection and artistic rediscovery. Embracing experimentation and abstraction, she embarked on a quest to redefine her artistic identity, exploring new mediums, styles, and textures in a quest for profound connections with the natural world.

Inspired by the romanticism movement of the 19th century, her compositions blur the lines between reality and imagination, inviting viewers on a journey of subjective interpretation and emotional resonance.

To Lorwen, art is more than mere expression—it is a path to personal growth and self-discovery. Each brushstroke carries the essence of her own journey—a voyage of revealing authenticity, shedding societal constraints, and embracing the endless possibilities of creativity.

Through her art and her practice as a psychologist, Lorwen Nagle empowers individuals to delve into their inner selves, confront their fears, and embrace the transformative force of self-expression. In her hands, the canvas becomes a mirror, reflecting not just the beauty of the world, but also the profound depths of the human soul.

One-and-a-half year old Ace-Liam from Ghana has been named the youngest artist of the world by the Guinness World Records after having exhibited and sold his art work. He was even commissioned by Ghana's First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

So Youn Kim is a multidisciplinary artist who blends her academic and cultural experiences with her creative talents to explore postmodern contemporary abstract expressionism. Her artistic journey began in childhood when her mother introduced her to Picasso's work at a special exhibition in Seoul, Korea—a moment that sparked her lifelong passion for abstract art. Now based in Canada, where she has lived since the age of 14, So Youn’s multicultural background deeply influences her work, which combines visual art with intellectual inquiry.

Her art is a synthesis of various elements: visual inspirations, philosophical thought, and the materiality of different mediums such as acrylics, oil pastels, and collaged materials. Through an intuitive, layered process, So Youn creates large canvas paintings that express her reflections on society, culture, and philosophy. Her work is not just a visual experience but also a form of intellectual engagement, as she draws from her knowledge of social sciences and philosophy to describe and analyze her pieces. Influenced by artists like Picasso, Matisse, and Basquiat, as well as philosophers like Foucault, Marcus Aurelius, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, So Youn’s work challenges conventional boundaries and invites viewers to engage in thought-provoking conversations about art, life, and meaning.

In addition to her visual art, So Youn is also a researcher in international affairs, an advisor in public policy, and is fluent in three languages—English, French, and Korean.
