Sonic Masala by Zentura has been one of those tracks for me since day one. When Zen Mechanics and Ace Ventura by Yoni Oshrat came together to create this masterpiece, they crafted something that became an instant anthem on every dancefloor it touched.
So when I got the chance to put my own spin on it, I knew this wasn't just another remix project, this was about honoring a track that's meant so much to the scene, while bringing my own energy to it.

With an epic first release last year - Freedom - on our collaborative release with Lysergic Records (Mexico), “Lysergic Animals”, it was a fitting time to revisit the project. As AxonDop, Pedro dials into sonic energies that help perfectly trigger dopamine transmitters - crucial for experiencing reward and motivation. After our busiest year yet at Phonix Records - 10 releases with close to 40 tracks - its a time to reward ourselves with “Mind Control”.

The release starts with showcasing a monster remix of “Presence” by Ace Ventura (Yoni Oshrat / Israel). A full powered epic saga that grooves, overflows with melodic energy and elevates from the original in a manner truly becoming a great remix.

The second track is an AxonDop original, “Mind Control “ - the title track of the release. A serial groover, that hints and teases at mysteries of cosmic proportions - meticulously constructed for complete Mind Control.

Special thanks to sHiFt for his crisp mastering, and Ace Ventura for generously agreeing to the release. Special mention to AxonDop aka atSar who also handles graphics on this special release!

AxonDop - Mind Control sample [Phonix Records] [Bandcamp free release]

Sonic Masala by Zentura has been one of those tracks that stayed with me from the very beginning. The collaboration between Zen Mechanics and Ace Ventura created something timeless, a true dancefloor ritual that shaped a lot of my own inspiration in psytrance.

When I started working on this remix, the intention was never to replace or compete with the original, but to honor it while translating its energy through my own sound and perspective. I reached out to Ace and the Mutant Disco Records team with the remix, but did not receive a response, so I decided to release it independently and let the music speak for itself.

Massive respect to the original creators for shaping such an influential track. Hopefully one day paths will cross and I will have the chance to work alongside these legends. Until then, this is my tribute to a track that means a lot to me and to the scene.

Biografía del artista:
Zaratustra es el alias artístico de Leandro Díaz, un músico, productor y DJ de psytrance que lleva toda su vida sumergido en el mundo de la música. Desde su infancia incursionó y exploró distintos géneros especializándose en la guitarra y diversos instrumentos.
Zaratustra no es solo un proyecto de psytrance, sino la manifestación sonora y filosófica de una profunda búsqueda artística constante que tiene como objetivo utilizar el poder artístico de la música para transmitir mensajes que intentan cambiar el mundo.
La música no es solo sonido. Es energía, es mensaje, es una experiencia que puede sacudir conciencias y transformar realidades, y este es el Norte artístico de este proyecto.
Desde que incursionó en el mundo de la producción de música electrónica hace cinco años, ha perfeccionado un sonido que oscila entre el Full On y el Prog-Psy, siendo sus tracks caracterizados por estar cargados de Drops llenos de energía, emocionalidad y euforia en sus melodías y mucha psicodelia.
Zaratustra estrenó su último track en abril 2025 titulado "Wake Up", junto a su gran amigo y colega musical 1000ok, bajo el sello AudioRave Records. Además, este año lanzará su primer EP, marcando un nuevo capítulo en su carrera.
Actualmente, conforma parte del equipo de artistas de Pulpa Music y Espacio Tempo, continuando su camino en la escena con una visión clara y un sonido que no deja indiferente a nadie.

[ENGLISH] This is the first volume of a progressive trance series I recorded over the years and recently recovered from a hard drive I had lost.

Progressive Trance #01 (Mix) brings together tracks that were making serious waves in 2010, capturing the sound of progressive psytrance at that moment: hypnotic grooves, rolling basslines, melodic tension and smooth dancefloor progression.

O Progressive Trance #01 (Mix) reúne faixas que estavam em alta em 2010 e retrata bem o som do progressive psytrance naquele momento: groove hipnótico, basslines contínuas, tensão melódica e uma condução de pista mais fluida.

PXRSA is a Persian American psytrance and techno trance producer shaping a new wave of high intensity psychedelic music. A true force in the Psytrance world and beyond it, Yoni Oshrat, better known as Ace Ventura, isn't just a DJ and producer - he's an experience. For over two decades, his infectious energy has ignited dance floors worldwide. From intimate clubs to headlining major festivals, Ace Ventura has captivated audiences with his signature style. His music is characterised by a fusion of hard, pumping dancefloor oriented themes and deeper, groovier influences, always immersed in psychedelia. As a DJ his diverse musical tastes and vast musical knowledge enables him to create unique sonic experiences. In times when lineups consist mostly of short producer sets, Yoni pushes the envelope to play long sets that tell a real story, going back to the origins of DJ culture.

His passion for psytrance extends far beyond music. Alongside Liquid Soul, he co-founded Psy-Nation, a global movement encompassing a monthly radio show/podcast and a travelling party line. This dedication to the genre fosters community and discovery for psytrance enthusiasts everywhere.

While psytrance is his domain, Ace Ventura's musical curiosity extends to downtempo and dub universes.  This deep appreciation for diverse electronic styles adds another layer to his artistry, evident in his acclaimed "Ace Ventura in Dub" sets.

Ace Ventura isn't confined to the booth. Beyond solo ventures, he collaborates on successful projects like Alpha Portal (with Astrix), Alien Art (with Captain Hook), Liquid Ace (with Liquid Soul), and Acid Punks (with Outsiders), each project offering a different sound adventure.

With nearly 20 years as playing music, Wald is a well-known figure on the Scandinavian electronic music scene. 

His career took off with a breakthrough at the Swedish, legendary Monday Bar cruise, and since then, he has established himself as a DJ with a broad, unique musical style and an ability to adapt to any occasion. 

He has performed in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and the Netherlands for promoters such as Monday Bar, Psynergy, Sound Nation, Technostate, Deztination, and Tillsammans, sharing the stage with numerous international mega-artists like Astrix, Liquid Soul, Ace Ventura, Sander van Doorn, Sean Tyas, and Skazi, to name a few. 

Whether performing under his psychedelic alter ego iPSY! or as Wald, focusing more on techno, from melodic to high peak, his dynamic sets are characterized by an energy that keeps the dance floor moving while he is never afraid to push boundaries and blend styles. It is this sense of timing and variation that makes Wald a DJ who always delivers something unique.

Thiago Ferreira começou sua trajetória na cena psytrance em meados de 2007. Após 9 anos pesquisando e adquirindo conhecimento decidiu iniciar seu trabalho como Djset.

Em 2016 recebeu o convite para participar do núcleo Ultravision/Earthdan d e desde então se apresentou em diversos festivais no Rio Grande do sul.

Seus sets sempre buscam o equilibrio entre melodia e progressão e assim acabou por criar uma identidade própria transitando dos 139 aos 132bpm sempre buscando a construção de uma história em seus sets.
