“Tender Touch” was originally written in 1993 and first released in 2014 on my debut album Time Machine – Reflecting Shattered Dreams. This new AI-powered funky jazz version brings the track back to life with fresh energy, heart, and soul.

Built on a smooth rhythm and infectious swing, it grooves with dancefloor drive while still carrying deep emotional weight. The verses unfold like a conversation — attraction denied, heartbreak endured, and the hope of love reborn. The pre-chorus lifts with classic funk-jazz flair, inviting connection: “Take my hand, don’t be alone tonight.”

I’m Dean R. Chandler — a London based songwriter, recording artist, and storyteller. My music is rooted in a lifelong search for meaning, weaving together themes of love, loss, faith, alien contact, and humanity’s future.

My upcoming double concept album Human Odyssey (set for release in January 2027) is the culmination of decades of writing and reflection. It’s a narrative journey that begins with a search for God and ends with an encounter with extraterrestrial intelligence — exploring not only what it means to be human, but also where we might be heading as a species. Musically, it draws inspiration from the epic storytelling of Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds, the synth-driven edge of Gary Numan, and the emotional depth of artists like Tori Amos and Chris de Burgh.

I previously released Time Machine – Reflecting Shattered Dreams (2014) and continue to revisit my archive of songs written across 35 years, reimagining them with today’s tools and sounds. Some pieces remain intimate and acoustic, while others expand into dark rock, industrial, or orchestral landscapes — but all are connected by a focus on emotional honesty and cinematic storytelling.

Beyond music, I’m fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology. I’ve been experimenting with AI-driven composition and production to bring old demos to life and to spark entirely new works. For me, these tools are not replacements for human artistry but extensions of it — ways of unlocking stories and emotions that otherwise might have remained hidden.

At its heart, my work is about connection: to the past, to the future, and to the unseen mysteries of existence. Music, for me, isn’t just entertainment — it’s a chronicle of transformation, a conversation between spirit, science, and sound.

DJ Souljazz nasce a Lugano nel 1967 ed entra velocemente nel mondo della musica, cominciando a collezionare dischi in vinile di tutti i generi già a partire dall'età di 10 anni. Nel 1992 inizia la sua carriera di animatore radiofonico e giornalista musicale a Ginevra, proponendo programmi musicali per i giovani a Radio Cité. Nello stesso anno inizia la sua carriera di DJ suonando regolarmente come residente al Moulin A' Danses e alla Coupole. Nel 1996 rientra in Ticino e, con lo pseudonimo di DJ Orange, nel 1997 inizia a collaborare in qualità di animatore radiofonico a Rete Tre, dove propone in successione diversi programmi di approfondimento musicale nelle fasce notturne. Parallelamente prosegue la sua carriera di DJ suonando dal 1998 prevalentemente al Living Room di Lugano. Tra il 1999 e il 2002 collabora anche attivamente all'organizzazione di Festate e del Festival Jazz di Chiasso. Nel 2004 si ritira dalle scene musicali. La voglia mai sopita di rimettersi dietro ad una consolle e una collezione di dischi che nel frattempo non ha mai smesso di crescere lo hanno spinto a tornare nel 2016, con una nuova identità e la  particolarità di utilizzare quasi esclusivamente supporti sonori  in vinile (45 giri, 10" e 12", 33 giri). DJ Souljazz spazia con agilità dal jazz alla soul, dal funk all'hip hop, dalla discomusic alla house, dalla drum'n'bass all'elettronica, dal reggae al rock. Tra le sue principali ispirazioni da citare Claude Nobs, eclettico fondatore del Montreux Jazz Festival, e Gilles Peterson, dj, produttore, speaker radiofonico, ispiratore del movimento acid-jazz.
