On Emerald Springs, we finally get a Todd Mosby solo. The steel string guitar sounds incredible! It is a very dynamic melody Mosby has in store for us; after a powerful opening it almost stops, then a more thoughtful segment follows – before a few heavy riffs are heard. The ancient hot springs of Ojo Caliente and surrounding area are engagingly beautiful. A dramatic night sky make for very intimate meditations, insights and inspirations. For this tune, I was contacted by Will Ackerman to write a piece using one of his beautiful tunings as part of a challenge. The structure contains highly rhythmic strumming sections juxtaposed against finger style sections with no time. Will’s tuning: EBGBD - TM
