The Nottingham University murders as with so many senseless murders appalled me..this really struck me as I was many many years ago a student there in a city i love,as a parent who sends their children to uni..and the conduct and manner in which the parents of Barnaby and Grace and son of Ian stood up and preach for love peace over hate was to define how much they believed in humanity.The title is from India kinghts article highlighting their courage and bravery.

About:
A song I wrote for my mom's birthday (August 21st). Nanay is the Filipino/Tagalog word for mother and what I grew up calling my mom.

	There is something about it that draws the eye. Something timeless. It seems to whisper a story no one can hear, a tale forgotten by all, yet felt by anyone who lingers.

	For no particular reason, everyone who comes across it reaches the same conclusion: this is the main rose, above all others. No one knows why. It doesn’t need to be explained. Simply sitting by it, watching it, is enough. In its presence, words fail. Silence, it seems, is all it asks.

1. Can you share your musical journey so far? How did you get started, and what drives your passion for music?
My musical journey started in an unlikely way. As a shy child, I lacked coordination for sports and group activities, but I had a natural gift for music. Encouraged (and often compelled) by my family, I found myself singing for gatherings and participating in choirs, duets, and even military band performances. Despite my talents, societal norms of the time made music feel like a source of shame rather than pride, especially growing up in a conservative environment.

In my early 20s, music became my sanctuary. It wasn’t just an escape—it was a way to express emotions I couldn’t put into words. Despite my inability to read music, I taught myself to play by ear, creating melodies on the organ gifted by my family. I began experimenting with songwriting, imitating styles I admired, and eventually developed a process that brought me joy: endlessly refining until I found a sound that resonated.

Music became a constant in my life because it was the one thing I felt truly capable of. It allowed me to create a world where I felt safe and fulfilled—a passion that continues to drive me today.

2. What sparks your creativity when writing songs and producing music? Can you walk me through your creative process?
Creativity often comes from life’s highs and lows. After a challenging personal experience in 2019, I rediscovered music as my emotional outlet. It became a lifeline during my recovery, helping me process loss and rebuild my passion for creating.

These days, my creative process starts with a spark—whether from a personal experience, a fantasy, or even a fleeting thought. I often write about relationships, emotions, and dreams, blending reality and imagination. Sometimes, it’s deeply personal; other times, it’s playful storytelling. I let the mood guide me, whether it’s exploring unrequited love or something as whimsical as "intergalactic cola."

Once an idea takes shape, I craft lyrics to capture the story, then experiment with melodies and arrangements until I find a combination that feels right. For me, the process itself is the reward—there’s a joy in refining a piece until it comes to life.

3. Who inspires you musically, and how do you incorporate those influences into your unique sound?
I’m inspired by a wide range of artists, often diving into tangents where I obsessively explore their work to learn from their techniques. From P!nk’s harmonies to Leonard Cohen’s storytelling, and even Jean-Michel Jarre’s electronic layers, every artist I admire teaches me something new.

While my music doesn’t directly mimic any one artist, I find myself borrowing techniques—drum patterns here, vocal styles there—to create something uniquely my own. My sound spans multiple genres, from pop-folk ballads to experimental electronic tracks. I don’t try to fit neatly into a box; instead, I let my influences guide me while staying true to my voice.

4. What makes your music stand out in your genre?
What sets my music apart is its diversity. I don’t adhere to one genre, but instead explore a mix of styles. In my electronic pop tracks, my deep baritone voice contrasts with the high-pitched vocals typically associated with the genre. In ballads, I blend deep and high tones to create a unique texture.

While I’m still refining my sound, I’ve been told my music doesn’t easily compare to others. It’s deeply personal, yet experimental—a balance of emotion, creativity, and exploration.

5. What are your aspirations for your music career in the short and long term? How can we support you?
In the short term, I aim to expand my catalog to 50 polished songs, allowing me to showcase my best work on platforms like Spotify. Long-term, I hope to build a loyal following, sustain myself through music, and leave a legacy that resonates with listeners.

Support can come in many forms—whether it’s feedback on my work, access to marketing tools, or connections to professionals who can help me grow. Above all, helping me reach more ears would be invaluable.

6. How do you connect with your fans, and what’s your approach to social media and marketing?
I engage with fans on TikTok, Instagram, and SoundCloud by sharing my music and responding personally to comments and messages. TikTok has been especially successful for growing my audience, and I plan to leverage it further to drive Spotify streams.

While my current strategies are budget-friendly, I’m constantly learning and experimenting to find new ways to connect with listeners and promote my work authentically.

7. Have you had any memorable experiences that shaped your artistry?
My artistry is deeply shaped by personal experiences, particularly overcoming challenges. A full-blown nervous breakdown and years of recovery led me back to music, reminding me of its power to heal and inspire. Music gave me purpose again, and that gratitude fuels everything I create.

8. How do you balance staying true to your vision while adapting to trends and feedback?
I focus on what’s within my control—refining my craft and staying true to my creative instincts. While I’m aware of industry trends, I see them as opportunities to learn rather than limitations. My goal is to evolve naturally with my audience while maintaining authenticity.

9. If you could collaborate with anyone, who would it be?
I’d love to work with P!nk or Kylie Minogue—not just because of their talent, but for their ability to tell stories that resonate deeply. Collaborating with artists who share that emotional connection to music would be a dream come true.

10. What’s the most important thing you want to achieve with your music, and how can we support you?
I want to create music that connects with people, offering them a moment of joy, comfort, or understanding. Building a sustainable career that allows me to keep making music and leaving a mark on listeners’ lives is my ultimate goal. Supporting me with tools, resources, or simply helping me reach new audiences would make a world of difference.
