Dolores Person and Rachel Person of the Person + Person Group and Raveis Real Estate will visit the “Morning Show” on March 13th to discuss Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).

The Persons will describe changes in Newburyport’s zoning ordinances that allow owners of single family zoned houses to build ADUs, or small, independent living spaces on the same property.

ADU’s are viewed as a way to address the crisis in affordable housing, as well as an opportunity for home owners to generate income or to accommodate family members.

The Persons will explain guidelines for a unit’s size, rental options, and requirements regarding parking.

They will also describe the free workshop and panel discussion on ADUs that they will host at the Senior Center at 6 p.m. on March 13th . 

As Dolores Person has said, “Many people are interested in creating ADUs, but don’t know where to begin.” The workshop aims “to help people navigate the process.”
