Life is simple, for ourselves and for everyone else, when we live with healthy boundaries but it can feel intimidating to create and maintain them. 
 
This talk will include an exploration of the delicate balance between boundaries as barriers or bridges. How boundaries define our spaces and interactions and are they fixed or fluid? What are the qualities and strengths we need to create and maintain healthy boundaries?
 
Speaker: Shireen Chada, a long time meditator with the Brahma Kumaris, is an experienced designer and facilitator of meditation retreats and workshops. Based in Tampa, Florida, she is the co-host of a weekly podcast: Spiritual Sense: How to Stay Awake and Become Your Best. Shireen is also the creator and presenter of Release Your Wings YouTube channel and author of five books on meditation: God’s Blessing for You, Soul Fitness, Oh My Goodness!, True Hollywood Blockbuster, and Insperience the Divine. Shireen presents intelligent, refreshingly creative and unmistakably authentic wisdom to powerfully uplift the soul.

Boundaries - Barriers or Bridges - Shireen Chada - Thursday 1st May 2025

'Storge' is an electroacoustic work, taking its name from the Greek word meaning “familial love”— the natural, instinctual bonds of affection that family members feel for one another. The piece incorporates two short quotes (both spoken in German language): one taken from a text by author Maureen Hawkins, and the other a short Biblical quote from 1 Corinthians 13:4. Weaving a soundscape around these spoken words, is a diaphanous melody played on the piano, accompanied by various other familiar, gentle, soothing sounds, including rain on pavement, springtime birdsong, a distant church bell tolling, a saxophone, and a baby laughing.

'Storge' was commissioned by early music ensemble La Petite Écurie, and premiered on May 18th, 2025, at Schloss Schwetzingen, Germany, as part of the Schwetzinger Festspiele.

"Pictureplane"(Travis Egedy), is a popular artist known for making his come up in the electronic music scene, DIY Venues, also popular for hanging around artists like "Grimes" and "Crystal Castles" in the early come up days of these artist, he is also the one who came up with the word "Witch House" which is a playful word on "House" music, though "Witch House" is now a popular music genre that is enjoyed by many.

"Crystal Castles" are actually one of the very first, if not the first electronic music duo to actually invent "Witch House" music, as you can hear dark beats and sorrow drawn out voices off of some of their early (demo songs/ Demo Album) dating back from "2007" and before that, which is crazy to think since during that time "Witch House" did not have a name for itself yet.
