Sincopat presenta un lanzamiento clave que representa una nueva etapa en la evolución sonora de AFFKT. “Bitters and Bread” es fruto de una colaboración vibrante con Island Hill, y fusiona soul, poesía y elementos electrónicos en una experiencia que trasciende géneros, conectando con el cuerpo y el corazón.

Más que un simple track, Bitters and Bread es una declaración artística madura. En su versión Extended, la calidez orgánica se mezcla con el pulso electrónico característico de AFFKT, mientras que las voces emotivas y la instrumentación de Island Hill aportan profundidad emocional. El resultado es un tema que se siente íntimo pero expansivo, personal pero orientado a la pista de baile.

El lanzamiento incluye también remezclas de Darlyn Vlys, que aporta un groove analógico y nocturno, y de Agustin Giri, quien ofrece una interpretación introspectiva, cargada de atmósfera y ritmos texturizados.

El EP completo estará disponible en exclusiva por dos semanas en Beatport a partir del 27 de junio de 2025, bajo el catálogo SYNC130. El arte gráfico ha sido realizado por Rake Lha, y la mezcla y masterización corren a cargo de Pobla.

Artist Bio:

Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994, when his first EP was released on Definitive Records - and has been known for his wide stylistic range ever since. 
His 10th solo album “Singing About It” was released on October 11, 2024 with, yes, lots of vocals and more song-oriented tracks than on any of his other longplayers. Call it Indie Pop, Art Pop, or, like Angie Portmann, radio maker at “Late Nite Sounds” proposed: Cosmic art pop. And, of course, still with house and techno genes in all tracks.
And the next album is already on the way: Mathias' project FANATICO X, which he runs together with Jorge Socarrás (Indoor Life / Compost Rec., Patrick Cowley und Jorge Socarrás / macro rec.), will release its third LP in the fall 2025. The first single, “Still Searching”, was released in early May. Great feedback came from Justin Strauss: „Listening to it I’m imagining the record that Bryan Ferry and Patrick Cowley never made, but sounding totally modern and now.“ And Dark Entries label maker Josh Cheon wrote: „One of my absolute favorite Indoor Life songs gets a modern reworking that is perfect for any fog-filled dance floor, while Mathias Schaffhäuser's remix ups the tempo and NRG for dark room pursuits.”

2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of his label WARE Records. To celebrate this incredible number, the EP “25 Years Of Ware” was released in June with 4 new tracks by the label maker. In November 23, another special EP was released with a vocal version of one of Mathias' classics, the song “6 Uhr morgens”, which first appeared on his debut album “Lido Hotel” on Force Tracks Records in 1999. The new version comes in several mixes and with an atmospheric remix by Pawas. The EP is Schaffhäuser's second release on the Canadian label Suleiman Records.

His 9th solo album “Biotopical” was released in 2022. It combines tracks released on Biotop Records between 2015 and 2020 as an “endless mix”, similar to what Schaffhäuser did on his third album “From 4 to 6 a.m.” on Blaou Sounds in 2002 - again with subtle creative changes, transitions and overdubs. Two EPs were also released in 2022, one by Mathias' project FANATICO X called “On The Brink, Vol. 2” with remixes by Indoor Man, Chocolate Garage Prod., Ryan Crosson and Made From Shadows. And the solo EP “Magnificent Madness”, his debut on Suleiman Records.

Back in the days:
Other releases from Mathias have appeared on Compost, Tic Tac Toe Rec., Kompakt, Force Inc., Mo's Ferry Productions, Multicolor, BluFin Records, Adjunct, WIR Recordings, Blaou Sounds and many others. In 1997 he started WARE, releasing 102 EPs until today. His album „Lido Hotel“ with the well known track „Nice To Meet You“, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough in the techno scene. 2001 saw his massive club hit „Hey Little Girl“, and in 2002 „Musik ohne Bass“ permeated the clubs. In April 2005 he released his album „Coincidance“, its title track successfully remixed by Trentemøller. On his album „Unequal Equality“ (2009) Mathias collaborated with Lucy, Alex Smoke, Xhin, And.id, Benjamin Brunn and many others. He also produced remixes for Steve Bug (LoverBoy), Luomo (Tessio), Pan-Pot, German Kraut Rock legend Faust, [A]pendics.Shuffle, Goldfrapp, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg – to name a few.

As DJ, Schaffhäuser’s motto at the turntables is: “Purism sucks!” The quality of the music is what’s important, not sheer functionality and trendiness. His sets are usually very varied and range from his very own composition style to underground house to fancy niche techno. Project MKOFTEN was a covert Department of Defense program developed in conjunction with the CIA. A partner program to MKSEARCH, the goal of MKOFTEN was to "test the behavioral and toxicological effects of certain drugs on animals and humans".

According to author Gordon Thomas' 2007 book, Secrets and Lies, the CIA's Operation Often was also initiated by the chief of the CIA's Technical Services Branch, Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, to "explore the world of black magic" and "harness the forces of darkness and challenge the concept that the inner reaches of the mind are beyond reach". As part of Operation Often, Dr. Gottlieb and other CIA employees visited with and recruited fortune-tellers, palm-readers, clairvoyants, astrologists, mediums, psychics, specialists in demonology, witches and warlocks, Satanists, other occult practitioners, and more.

DJ at the age of 15 at the "club 4" next to Nice, I learned the craft by mixing all night long with DJ Boudha every summer and school holidays.
My weapons being made, my first big evening was a Limelight on new Year 93' beside of Mozart, Liza'N Eliaz and Lady B.
After all was chained with my first amazing rave to the side of Scan X and Jack of Marseille, Yayo, and Vibot.
My musical style turned around Techouse & Techno in progress with tracks from the four corners of the planet ...
