Numa altura em que o humano  se vai perdendo vagarosamente, ‘mas não é a cor que desmaia’ como escreveu Osvaldo Alcântara, pseudónimo poético de Baltazar Lopes da Silva; as cicatrizes da vida, o deboche e as religiosidades, as histórias do esclavagismo, da febre amarela, e das doenças venéreas estão neste episódio lado-a-lado com um corpo musical de raízes densas em crioulo, tão fortes que se afirma hoje parecendo ter um futuro auspicioso tendo em consideração o número de ouvintes; daí passamos para a Grande Depressão económica norte-americana e a prodigiosa Memphis Minnie que emerge como se de uma ‘pandemia ianque’, o rock’n’roll, se tratasse na União Soviética; ainda visitamos um planeta bastante colorido, satírico, e electrónico com nome de mulher que temos  pena de não ‘ouver’ num filme do Almodóvar, pelo kitsch, pelas fantasias, por livros que lemos ou andamos a ler e pela grande música do improviso, becos com e sem saída.
Não por força desta realidade, mas também não necessariamente pela abstração dela, a interlocutora adverte que chamou ao Francis Black: Black Francis, mas isso é porque ainda não se compôs, estes anos todos, por ele não ter valorizado a grande Kim Deal em Pixies. Para sermos honestos, estava dopada por causa da gripe e o companheiro de faladura, qual quadrilheira de companhia, também estava dopado e não fez o favor de a corrigir.

"Alt. thought."

After spending 5 years writing the epic life story album that was "Child Of Dirt", we needed to write something from scratch that was an introspective on the world, this time on "alt thought", a spin on the mesh of madness spread across the world in war, propaganda, lies, slander, hate, denial, and conspiracy. We wrote 3 songs around this along with 2 more on a perspective on the suicide of someone close, and the experiences of growing up in school with a mind that isn't compatible. This became the album: "Birds Aren't Real", released 28/07/23.

Não existe diferença sem mimese, nem nada que não o seja: diferente.
É de letras e poemas musicados, de músicas sem os vocábulos do léxico, de sonidos ou vocalizações, das mais veladas às mais guturais, de editoras e de streaming, de canções, em locais emparedados e sem paredes, dialogistas em experiências distintas, ora como participantes delas ora como ouvintes remotos de matrizes sonoras maternais, e, por isso, não menos indisputáveis nos nossos percursos, que falamos; tentaremos pouco que estamos cansados de nos ouvir. A premissa é voltar a escutar esses fonogramas, recuperar histórias tentando reproduzir o entusiasmo daquela primeira vez que fomos tocados pelos primeiros acordes de um disco ou os que não nos entraram nos tímpanos nem à lei da bala apesar de anos mais tarde não os conseguirmos largar.
Nenhuma banda nasceu de geração espontânea, nenhuma filosofia, sequer deidade simbólica, é indestrutível. 
Todas as alturas em que matamos os tempos rebeldes aos discos e aos livros; para neles enrijecer e reconstruir a memória, pessoal ou colectiva, e os muitos chãos pisados entre concertos, danças, projectos edificados, aqui convergem. Alturas, em que podemos mudar as lentes, renovar a graduação, reajustar as agulhas do prato e as tonalidades discursivas, juntando as votadas ao desprezo e deixando umas tantas naquele outro lugar da estante improvisada num barracão granítico ao qual não desejamos regressar.
