Mathias Schaffhäuser Artist Bio:

Mathias Schaffhäuser has been on the techno, house and minimal scene since 1994 when his first House EP was released on Definitive Records. 25 years later he is still at. 
In the first quarter of 2021, he already was part of 2 cool remix projects, one for Si Begg's impressive remix series „Peripheral Original Motion Picture Soundtrack: Remixed“, and one for Öona Dahl and Hallucienda Records. 

In 2020, Mathias' label WARE released its catalogue number 100. To celebrate this anniversary Mathias released the EP "A Hundred Acts Of Devotion" with 5 new tracks. October 2020 saw the release of „On The Brink, Vol. 1“, the first remix EP of FANATICO's 2nd album, featuring Man Power, Amir Alexander, Warehouse Preservation Society, Indoor Man and Ulysses on remix duty.

2019 saw the sophomore release from his Fanatico project 'Love And Dancing On The Brink' on Hallucienda in November (vinyl and CD in January 2020), as well as the September release of his new album 'Hedonism, What Else' on Snork Enterprises, new EPs on Fenou, Biotop Label and Ware Records, and several remixes. 

In 2018 there was already a reason to celebrate: The 20th jubilee of WARE was honoured with 3 releases featuring reworked and remixed Ware classics like „Nice To Meet You“ and „Desire“. Also 3 more EPs on Tiefschwarz' Souvenir Music, legendary British label Third Ear, and Biotop Label came out in 2018.

Other releases from Mathias have appeared on Mo's Ferry Productions, Compost, Tic Tac Toe Rec., Kompakt, Force Inc., Multicolor, BluFin Records, Adjunct, WIR Recordings, Blaou Sounds and many others. In 1997 he started WARE, releasing 99 EPs as of April 2019. His album Lido Hotel with the well known track Nice To Meet You, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough in the techno scene. 2001 saw his massive club hit Hey Little Girl, and in 2002 Musik ohne Bass permeated the clubs. In April 2005 he released his album Coincidance, its title track successfully remixed by Trentemøller. On his album Unequal Equality (2009) Mathias collaborated with Lucy, Alex Smoke, Xhin, And.id, Benjamin Brunn and many others. He also produced remixes for Steve Bug (LoverBoy), Luomo (Tessio), Faust, [A]pendics.Shuffle, Goldfrapp, Pan-Pot, Indoor Life, Northern Lite, Dapayk & Padberg – to name a few.

As DJ, Schaffhäuser’s motto at the turntables is: “Purism sucks!” The quality of the music is what’s important, not sheer functionality and trendiness. At times his sets can be rather varied from his very own style, dirty + dark house, and thumping techno. Hailing from San Francisco, Ryan Carney is a passionate loving guy when it comes to music and DJing.

Ryan got his exposure to Dance music age the age of 5 from his older sister introducing him to sounds of Acid House, Techno, Nu Wave, and Deep New York/Chicago House. From that tender young age, Ryan never looked back. He then later discovered the likes of Trance & Progressive in his early teens in the late 1990s. He was an active party goer in the San Francisco Rave Scene from the years 1998-2006. In 2001,  he went to an event and saw a local SF trance DJ legend, Dyloot play to a 10,000 capacity event. Ryan was overwhelmed by the people, the music, and the DJ controlling the crowd on a musical journey.  He knew that being a DJ was his calling. From 2001 to the end of the 2000s, Ryan has been putting out mixes.

Growing up in the rave scene as a teenager,  Ryan enjoyed the electronic music styles of Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Paul Van Dyk, Orbital, Derrick May, Richie Hawtin, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Hernan Cattaneo, Sandra Collins, Sander Kleinenberg, Ferry Corsten, DJ Tiesto, Gabriel & Dresden, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Sander Van Doorn, Armin Van Buuren and countless others which spark his unique but unusual taste of music. In the winter of  2014, he collaborated with Norwegian DJ's The Arctic Saints to do a guest mix on their "Arctic Sessions" podcast on Hurradio in Norway, and later on that year, Ryan debuted his Radio Show "Revolution Sessions" on Pure.FM in March 2014 and concluded in May 2016. He then later debuted a brand new mix show called "Sehnsucht Radio" on PureFM which ran from July 2016-February 2017.

Today, Ryan still Dj's and put out mixes with his Quality Electronic music styles of Techno, Melodic Techno & Progressive. He enjoys music like everybody else. Music is his passion and what he plays is what he's playing in his life right now. He hopes that with his style of music he plays, it reaches the people within their hearts, and open's minds & hearts.

"END-OF-SCHOOL parties are usually noted for the destruction of friendships and common room furniture rather than the creation of world-class DJs. But 1986 bucked that trend and a new Deity of the Decks was born. When some friends needed help staging a school leaving party for 2000 people, Matt Solo - who would later become DJ MATT PROMO - threw together a Party Survival Kit and grabbed the helm. One rebel-rousing party later, his destiny was determined.

Less than three years down the line, he was managing a group of British DJs and forging connections with clubs that still stand strong today. By the early '90s, he was running a London record store, staging his own events and helping others promote theirs. In 1996, Matt quit the record store and started selling promos direct to the same DJs he'd served over the counter. At the same time he launched the infamous Aural Sex parties - and with them, his own DJ career.

In his first year behind the decks, Promo played at some of the most famous clubs in London, including; Ministry of Sound, The Cross, The End, Heaven, Turnmills and Hanover Grand. He was even called in to test the legendary Fabric sound system before it opened. It was not long before he turned his attention overseas and was playing in Europe, America and Canada. Back on British terra firma, he launched the hugely successful Good Life parties - and broke bar and attendance records. In 2002 he established the 3D collective playing various venues in London and Europe as well as a monthly slot on Ministry of Sound's radio as guests on the Secret Sessions (with an online audience of more than seven million!). By Summer 2003, he had completed seven new mixes and finished his first album before moving to Melbourne, Australia. There, he rapidly established his reputation on the club circuit as a DJ and a venue manager.

From Summer 2005 he started training in earnest to attempt breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest DJ (club) session marathon. At midnight on June 15th 2006 his training had paid off as he reached a staggering 87 hours continuous DJing. This wasn't the only record PROMO broke for marathon sessions. More modestly; he played the longest continuous live set on Kiss FM - in Melbourne, clocking up over 7 1/2 hours. More new partnerships included; MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT who represent him for Australia; and NOISE TV who offered PROMO the chance to write and host the dance segment of their show.

Returning to London in 2007, MATT PROMO has played in; Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, France, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and the USA. His style encompasses a broad spectrum of house, including sublime jazzy sounds of Europe and the US, minimal, tech, progressive and tribal.

What does techno look like in its purest form? Clear in its structure. Credible in its message. With an insistent beat in the background. With its heart in the right place. And its melody in the tips of the never-ending goosebumps.Those who know, are aware of that. Those who can, do it. At Complexed Records they've only been doing just that since 2014. But they do it with a sound that embodies such determination that it could just as well come from the good old days in the beginning. That's primarily down to label boss Drumcomplex, who in this short period and with very few artists has established a reputation that has projected virtually every new release into the playlists of the major players. And in the process he and his label have themselves grown to become a major force.It's as if Complexed Records hit the nerve of an age which was not openly calling out for a powerful breath of techno past, yet still seems relieved to hear it. Or rather, to absorb it. Who would have thought a few years ago that once again a new techno label would be established and experience such a meteoric rise. But let's leave the past in peace. Let's look to the future. A glittering future with packed dance floors, on which visionaries once again celebrate music as a unifying element as they dance together into the early hours, with gratified smiles on their faces. And the sound they're dancing to? Complexed Records. Modern Future Techno.
