Aktuelle wissenschaftliche Studien deuten darauf hin, dass Cannabis, insbesondere der psychoaktive Wirkstoff THC, potenziell positive Auswirkungen auf das menschliche Gehirn haben könnte, insbesondere im Kampf gegen Alterungsprozesse und Krankheiten wie Demenz und Alzheimer. Untersuchungen an der Universität Bonn zeigen, dass THC das neuronale Netzwerk fördern und die Bildung von Synapsen zwischen Neuronen steigern kann. Dies ist entscheidend, da das Gehirn mit zunehmendem Alter an Flexibilität verliert, was zur Degeneration und zu kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen führen kann. In Tierversuchen mit Mäusen verbesserten sich Lern- und Gedächtnisfähigkeiten bei älteren Tieren nach einer Gabe von THC, was darauf hinweist, dass Cannabinoide die Reparatur und Regeneration von Gehirnzellen unterstützen könnten. Cannabis könnte somit in Zukunft eine wichtige Rolle in der Medizin spielen, insbesondere bei der Behandlung neurologischer Erkrankungen und Alterungsprozesse.

Linalool ist ein in der Natur weitverbreitetes Terpen, das in vielen Hanfsorten sowie Gewürzkräutern vorkommt. Es ist verantwortlich für den charakteristischen Duft von Lavendel und wird in der Industrie als Duftstoff in Körperpflegeprodukten verwendet. Eine bekannte Hanfsorte mit einem hohen Anteil an Linalool ist White Widow. Chemisch betrachtet existiert Linalool in zwei spiegelverkehrten Formen, den Enantiomeren S-Linalool und R-Linalool.

In der Natur dient Linalool den Pflanzen als Abwehrstoff gegen Insekten, was durch Studien bestätigt wurde. Es zeigt zudem eine antibakterielle Wirkung, indem es Bakterien im Nektar von Pflanzen reduziert, die die Samenreifung beeinträchtigen könnten. Aktuelle Forschungen untersuchen, ob Linalool als antibakterielles Mittel in der Geflügelzucht eingesetzt werden könnte. Darüber hinaus wurden weitere medizinische Potenziale von Linalool entdeckt.

Linalool besitzt eine schützende Wirkung auf die Leber, insbesondere gegen toxische Leberschäden. Untersuchungen an Ratten zeigen, dass Linalool durch die Reduktion bestimmter Leberbiomarker Leberschäden verhindern kann. Auch bei Alzheimer wurden in Tierversuchen positive Effekte beobachtet. In Studien an Mäusen konnte eine signifikante Reduktion der Biomarker nachgewiesen werden, die mit dem Fortschreiten von Alzheimer assoziiert sind.

Zusätzlich wirkt Linalool angstlösend und entspannend, weshalb es in der Aromatherapie häufig verwendet wird. Hanfsorten mit einem hohen Linalool-Gehalt könnten Patienten mit Schlafstörungen helfen, da sie beruhigende Effekte haben, ohne das Risiko einer Abhängigkeit wie bei Benzodiazepinen. Diese vielseitigen Eigenschaften machen Linalool zu einem interessanten Bestandteil von Hanf mit vielversprechenden gesundheitlichen Vorteilen.

Alzheimer Europe 2024 Conference Highlights - Part Two

Een progressief neurologische aandoening eindigt vaak met een WIA-uitkering. Vóór het zover is, kan er vaak nog jarenlang worden doorgewerkt dankzij aanpassingen aan het werk en goede medische zorg. 

Dat doorwerken zou des te beter lukken als werknemers niet wachten tot ze aanzienlijke klachten ontwikkelen voordat ze een bedrijfsarts raadplegen. Nanette Nab, ergotherapeut in het Radboudumc ziekenhuis, houdt daarom een pleidooi voor het preventief medisch consult. Ze benadrukt het belang van een betere en vooral vroegere samenwerking tussen zorgprofessionals, bedrijfsartsen en arbeidsdeskundigen. Hoe meer ze elkaar informeren over de vooruitzichten van de aandoening, hoe eerder ze de betrokken werknemer kunnen helpen met – dan nog – lichte aanpassingen van het werk.

While his extensive experience as a trainer includes working with a variety of populations, he primarily specializes in working with clients who have movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, MSA (Multiple System Atrophy), MS, Charcot-Marie-Tooth, Alzheimer’s, Epilepsy, Autism, and more.

Karl travels extensively throughout the United States and internationally as public speaker, keynote speaker, and educator in the movement disorder, human movement, and personal growth arenas. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Agile Human Performance, Inc and owner/CEO of PhysioChains LLC which currently offers Parkinson’s Regeneration Training ® courses worldwide.

In addition, Karl is the founder and president of the Parkinson’s Global Project, a foundation dedicated to funding research and helping people with Parkinson’s and other movement disorders all over the world.
