The January Lanterns is an indie-folk-pop duo created by husband-and-wife team Andrew and Kristen Camp. The high school sweethearts have navigated life’s highs and lows together and their music is a raw and heartfelt expression of their journey. With bittersweet harmonies and poignant lyrics, they craft a sound that blends warm folk melodies with pop-infused production, creating something deeply intimate yet expansive.

Based in Missouri, The January Lanterns’ music speaks to anyone who’s lived through love, loss, and the complex beauty of personal growth. Their second album, That’s What We’ll Be, released in May 2025, follows their debut LP, For The Kids, When They’re Older (2022), and several singles that paved the way for their evolving sound. That’s What We’ll Be offers a collection of stories about vulnerability, transformation, and embracing life’s uncertainties. 

The duo’s single, “the kid that wrecked it all” was named in the top 12 songs at the 2024 Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition and The January Lanterns are also active in licensing their music for sync. Warner Chappell Production Music commissioned Andrew and Kristen to write a six song EP for their sync catalog. Since then those songs have been licensed in numerous TV shows around the world.

Their music is a comforting embrace—a glowing light in the darkness of life's challenges—offering stories of vulnerability, hope, and transformation. Two lanterns, burning bright in the night sky.

Tony Liggens has worked with the likes of Taavi Mote, Marty Rifkin, Paul Serrano, David (Pic) Connely, Eugene Record, James Decicco, James Shelton, to name a few. Classically trained musician, prolific songwriter, and on occasion loves recording great covers by some of the best songwriters in the business. I started writing songs in my teens after learning how to play piano, cello, drums, and guitar. Being born and raised in Los Angeles greatly influenced my early years of music. My style of writing is very broad, primarily focused on lyrics in a variety of styles.  I turned professional in my 20s but then turned music into a sideline avocation.  I continued to write and perform in coffeehouses, even during my first academic job at Stanford University.  I now live and enjoy writing again in Santa Barbara, California.
