The Glitz at SOS U.Ground - Januar 2025

Hey Fams!

I deliberated for a while on whether or not to share this one. I prepped a set that I thought would work well in what I imagined for the setting but discovered on the day that the space (while a cool aesthetic) was a bright room sound-wise, and lacked subs. Ultimately not quite the vibe for my more 'big rig doof energy' vision.

On any other day I'd have swapped out my prepped set and have winged it with something else (probably some groovy minimal house). However, the fates had other plans; I was half way through rebuilding my music library at the time and my USBs only had this set and it's accompanying B-Roll (I keep a bunch of similar music on standby for any given set, even if it's prepped, just in case I'd like to start winging it). 

The resulting set was quite eclectic (At least it felt that way on the day)!

However, listening back in the car recently, I kinda like it still. It's a strange story, but a fun one nonetheless. There's a few tunes in here that might not otherwise get to see the light of day in my mix series. So, ultimately I've decided to throw it on the interwebs.

PREMIERE: Andreas Henneberg - I Don't Care Anymore [Desert Hearts Records]

So grateful to Acid Alien for giving me and Sqyd the opportunity to make our debut at the fabled and fabulous House of Yes (Onyx Room)!!! 

It really feels like the perfect encapsulation of the playful, joyful and loving friendship that Sqyd and I have built up over the past decade  - starts off minimal and groovy, before we take you through some brash and bombastic indie dance, weaving in some classic house before reaching a delightfully dark climax with a live Mochakk/Severance remix followed by back-to-back bangers from Berlin legend Andreas Henneberg 

It made us beyond happy to share it with such an amazing dance floor at an institution that has done so much to spread love and joy and acceptance in NYC. I probably could have posted this sooner, but I think it's quite fitting to be putting this up during Pride Month :)

Konedawg is a Sydney based Producer/DJ with a penchant for flowing live sets in a variety of styles. He's developed a particular appreciation for minimal tech house, keeping his beats punchy and his grooves sexy.

He curates the KONECAST and KONELIVE mix series, both running the gamut of electronic music genres. His sets and productions have been featured on powerhouse labels including Digital Diamonds, Subtrail and Soliq Records.

Actively involved with Australia's burgeoning underground music festival scene, Konedawg is a Burn and Doof regular.

Background
Tini Tun was born and raised in Mexico City, in 1990, along with his brother DJ Quecho, he formed one of the most important electronic bands in Mexico called Conditus. They composed several tracks like “Move Your Hands in the Air” and “Neptuno” which were released on several major dance compilations in his country.

National Experience
A year later at the age of 15, Tini Tun began his DJ career playing at the first rave parties in Mexico City, with excellent response from the audience. He became one of the pioneers of progressive music in the Mexico electronic scene. From then on, he has played around the country in all major cities like Monterrey, Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puebla, Cuernavaca, Morelia, Chihuahua, Culiacan, Merida, Cancun, Acapulco, Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Playa del Carmen, among others. Every year he is invited to play at the legendary BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen.

International Experience
Today, Tini Tun is asked to play around the world for his rapid career record and impressive impact on the international audience. He has played in several countries like Costa Rica (Contacto Parties), Peru, Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador, the UK, Switzerland, Prague, Russia, Canada, Puerto Rico, the USA and South Korea. 
After becoming a member of the prestigious Balance Record Pool back in 1997, he performed in several festivals and clubs across the US at The Mardi Gras Festival in New Orleans, San Francisco (1015), New York (Twilo), Chicago (Crobar), Los Angeles (Giant), Colorado, Virginia, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis and Las Vegas.

International Events
He has appeared at the Ministry of Sound Sessions for the UK Radio broadcasted on several radio stations in North America.
In the year 2000 Tini Tun played in front of 15,000 people at the ACA World Fest in Acapulco with an excellent performance.
In 2002, John Digweed shows Tini Tun as the first Mexican DJ, to be on his radio show Kiss FM in London, having a great response from the radio listeners.
In 2013, John Digweed invited him again for his radio show called Transitions.
