Klaas Devos - Relevance

En el 2011/2012 me enganché con la electrónica, y en especial con el Deep House. Parte de ese afán se lo debo a Hot Creations y sus derivados, que estaban en su peak por esos años (2012/2013), justo cuando también empecé a mezclar.

Con los años, mi estilo y gusto fueron adaptándose a nuevas tendencias, hasta que encontré la música que hoy me define: un sonido más minimal, más underground. Sin embargo, en mi opinión, siempre he conservado mis orígenes: ese deep house funky y groovy que me marcó desde el inicio.

Este set es un homenaje a ese deep house de aquellos tiempos. Principalmente lo armé para compartir tracks que quizás hoy no forman parte de mis tocadas. Como dicen, nunca está de más regresar a lo básico. Back to the roots.

De ahí nace el nombre de este set (¿quién sabe, tal vez una serie?): Ramaricious – Deepericious.

Quiero hacer una mención honrosa a los productores y DJs que tienen temas en este set y me siguen inspirando: Lawnchair Generals, Andy Riley (Inland Knights), Miguel Migs, Random Soul, entre otros.

Back in 2011/2012, I got hooked on electronic music — and it was Deep House that truly pulled me in. A big part of that obsession was thanks to Hot Creations and all the sub genres, especially during its 2012/2013 peak, which also happened to be when I started DJing.

Over the years, my style and taste evolved with the trends until I found the sound I now call home: something more minimal, more underground. Still, I’ve always carried pieces of my deep house roots — that funky, groovy flavor that started it all for me.

This set is a tribute to that era. I mainly put it together to share some tracks that might not make it into my current sets, but still resonate deeply with me. As they say, it's never a bad idea to go back to basics. Back to the roots.

That’s where the name comes from (maybe a future series?): Ramaricious – Deepericious.

Big shoutout to the producers and DJs whose music is featured here and who continue to inspire me: Lawnchair Generals, Andy Riley (Inland Knights), Miguel Migs, Random Soul, and more.
