I wrote The City about a very frustrating and desesperating friendship. It's a song about anger, about not understanding what others expect of you, about that expectation being impossible. 

The City

This is a darker song about growth—facing the guilt of past choices, recognizing they were born from pain, and coming to terms with the consequences. Inspired by the way villains in my favorite movies carry valid burdens but choose destructive paths, it’s about the struggle to be good and accepting what our decisions leave behind. This is a song I wrote and composed to a large degree, and used AI to sing for me.

You long if the person feels any regret for what they did in that relationship. They hid the best parts of you, and walked away. I started this song while "Nobody there" was being created. The chorus came to me almost immediately. l also wanted to experiment with this dramatic tone, and find ways to differentiate it from other songs that I had made in the past.
