An all new episode is here this week. Ro and Brad sit and talk about the animated series Tales of the Underworld. There were two story arcs focused on two fan favorites, Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. We get to see a little back story for Bane and see how the Dark Disciple novel intersects with current canon, as it were for a brand new take on these characters.

EP222 Tales of the Underworld

In honor of Prince's birthday today (June 7), I wanted to pay tribute with a mashup--and I had the idea of mashing up his iconic B-side "Erotic City" with my friend  @DJChidowandMyujikku  's "Green, Exotic and Erotic", the theme song for Margo from the Hands Up! series of animated shorts created by Joel G. The two songs fit like a glove, I'm really proud of this one. Thank you to DJ Chidow for helping me make it and for providing me with the extended mix of "Green, Exotic and Erotic" that I used for it.

"Elio" is the latest film from Disney Pixar. The story follows an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solis, who accidentally becomes the intergalactic ambassador of planet Earth after being beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens for making contact. He must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms and navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions. Directed by Domee Shi ("Turning Red"), Madeline Sharafian ("Burrow"), and Adrian Molina ("Coco" co-director) and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, it stars the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Zoe Saldaña, Remy Edgerly, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil, and Shirley Henderson. We were fortunate to be invited to Pixar Studios where we got a behind-the-scenes first look at the making of the film and conducted interviews with Directors Shi & Sharafian, Producer Drumm, Lighting Art Director Ernesto Nemesio, Sets Supervisor David Luoh, Production Designer Harley Jessup, Visual Effects Supervisor Claudia Chung Sanli, and Animation Supervisors Jude Brownbill & Travis Hathaway, which you can listen to below. 석현과 순자는 이제 80대가 되는 노인이다. 자식은 셋, 손주는 하나 있었지만. 이미 넷 다 떠난 지 오래이다. 달동네에서 가장 높은 동시에 가장 낮은 건물에서 그들은 살았다. 순자는 치매에 걸려 세상이 늘 18살이었고, 석현은 늘 폐지와 폐품을 옮기며 돈을 벌었지만 그들은 행복했다. 정부의 정책으로 그들의 집이 압류 당하기 전까지는, 그랬다. 그리고 모든 정부 지원 정책에서 불가 서류를 받은 지금, 그들은 다시 봄눈을 꿈꾸기로 마음먹는다.

We are joined by the man himself on behalf of the documentary, BACK ON BOARD: GREG LOUGANIS.  

When drag queens start disappearing, a shy young barista must summon his inner "shero" to rescue them from an ambitious evil drag queen bent on harvesting their magical anti-aging tears. Stand back-- here comes MAXXIE LaWOW: DRAG SUPER-SHERO (in her own animated musical) and its director/ co-writer Anthony Hand!  

From 2023:  A lonely screenwriter encounters a neighbor one night in their near-empty London apartment block and get together. As a relationship develops, the writer wrestles with memories of his past and is drawn back to his childhood home which appears to be inhabited by his parents, looking exactly the same as the day they died. ALL OF US STRANGERS is the film and we sit down with writer/director Andrew Haigh.

Lara and Philip revisit the original 'Lilo & Stitch' from 2002. This was the feature animation debut for both directors, Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders, who would team up again on DreamWorks' 'How to Train Your Dragon' (2010). Chris Sanders had originally conceived the Stitch character in 1985, and he has gone on to voice the character in numerous appearances, beginning with the famous "Inter-Stich-als" promotional campaign for this film. He would later reprise the role for the 2025 live-action adaptation, directed by Dean Fleisher Camp. The story followed an escaped alien genetics experiment who crash lands in Hawaii. He poses as a dog and is adopted by recently orphaned sisters Lilo and Nani, but their difficult life seems to only take a turn for the worse with the addition of this new family member.
