Peça para conjunto de percussão com membranofones, sinos e gongos, 16 minutos.

"Rumores" são três curtas peças de percussão que foram apresentadas no âmbito da exposição "Próxima Paragem", em conjunto com 3 pinturas de Rita Thomaz. O material de base para estas peças são as novas gravações que fiz para o próximo álbum (ainda sem título) do meu projecto de percussão a solo, Som Alvo, e que será publicado em 2026.

"A OSSO volta à Appleton, com uma instalação de Rita Thomaz e Nuno Morão.

Esta é a “próxima paragem” numa “viagem” que experimenta o encontro entre a arte visual e a sonora. Esta instalação convida-o a experimentar uma união entre som e imagem, onde as fronteiras entre percepção visual e sonora se diluem na construção de uma atmosfera onde se experimenta “ouvir” as pinturas e “ver” o som.

Três pinturas de Rita Thomaz definem o horizonte visual no espaço da Blackbox da Appleton. Com recurso ao uso de tinta acrílica em spray, surgem camadas transparentes sobrepostas e espaços vazios, criando delicadas variações de tons, texturas e formas onde a experiência da profundidade da superfície é o tema central. Uma partitura ou uma cidade arruinada mas ainda plena de rumores.

Nuno Morão ocupa-se de uma peça sonora, intermitente, onde o silêncio vai sendo pontuado pela pulsação das peles e de metais ressonantes. O ar da sala é assim ocupado levando o espectador a mergulhar numa composição musical que combina o timbre telúrico das peles com o indício de voo dos sinos e gongos.

Os ritmos desenham a cadência do olhar."

Piece for percussion set with membranophones, bells and gongs, 16 minutes.

"Rumors" consists of three short percussion pieces presented within the scope of the exhibition "Próxima Paragem," alongside three paintings by Rita Thomaz. The foundational material for these pieces comprises new recordings I made for the upcoming (and as yet untitled) album of my solo percussion project, Som Alvo, which will be released in 2026.

"OSSO returns to Appleton, with an installation by Rita Thomaz and Nuno Morão.

This is the 'next stop' on a 'journey' that explores the encounter between visual and sound art. This installation invites you to experience a union of sound and image, where the boundaries between visual and auditory perception dissolve in the construction of an atmosphere where one 'hears' the paintings and 'sees' the sound.

Three paintings by Rita Thomaz define the visual horizon within Appleton's Blackbox space. Using acrylic spray paint, transparent layers overlap with empty spaces, creating delicate variations of tones, textures, and forms where experiencing the depth of the surface is the central theme. A score or a ruined city still full of rumors.

Nuno Morão presents an intermittent sound piece, where silence is punctuated by the pulse of skins and resonant metals. The air of the room is thus occupied, leading the spectator to immerse themselves in a musical composition that combines the earthy timbre of skins with the hint of flight from bells and gongs.

The rhythms sketch the cadence of the gaze."
