Hello, does anybody know how to automatically assign zone ID to zones in a proper order?
For example, when I add zone between room 2.12 and 2.13 I want all of the other zones to get +1 In their ID number.

I have registered and downloaded the program, but I have not received a trial license serial number. My registration was successful and I have checked my spam folder, but I haven't received an email with a serial number.


My serial number expired before I used it so I asked for a student license and I've already sent proof of enrollment several emails and so far no return I think I'll even use the program from before because I need it in college.


Looks like we have got the attribute reindexer in AC 24. Now we have a problem of limit of the number we can apply to a custom attribute index number. 32767. This is the maximum number of elements in a GDL array. Funnily enough it appears that the issue I am having applies to elements that are based around GDL.



I have been trying figure out a way to sort attributes using an index number based of a classification system number like Uniclass 2015 or MasterspecNZ. For example in MasterspecNZ Concrete 3121 so a building material of concrete in-situe would have an attribute index number 312101 so if I need to add additional surfaces or building materials then they can be added within the same number range 3121. Currently there is a limit in the number that can be used which is 32767. I need to do this because I need to make sure across a range of files that the attributes of fills, surfaces and building materials are always consistent. I need to know that the expressions for take off that I am writing will always point to the correct attribute. Failure to do so will mean inaccurate costings.


Can Graphisoft please increase the attribute index number that GDL objects can read and the part of the Archicad database that is still based on GDL can refer to so that I can plan out how I am going to manage attributes between different files.


I have a spreadsheet that has all my attributes with their index numbers listed so that if a new attribute is needed it is created specifically with a attribute number in mind. After copying elements from one file to another an audit process is undertaken to ensure that the attributes conform to the company standard by exporting each attribute list to a text file and then opening that text file in Excel. Then using an IF THEN statement the text file is checked against the company standard for compliance. This way all files are always compliant to the company standard and if a hotline is attached to a a project file, like a standard kitchen, bathroom or laundry we know that the attributes will always align.





It appears that all attributes appear correct when selecting in the element settings panel. The only place there is still a problem is when you try to use an attribute with an index number over 32767 in the equation editor.


I would ask Graphisoft if they could please increase the attribute index number availability across all areas of the program so that we can accurately reference these both in the "Preference Equation Editor" and in python scripts and that the attribute will not be classed as "Missing".


I am trying to ensure that across all projects and on output to IFC that all attributes, associated property equations etc are consistent from one project to another. If you could somehow reference attributes through an internal Archicad database number then I could write scripts that I know would always be consistent no matter the attribute index number.


Personally, I just think of the story numbers as index numbers. They do not need to show on drawings and the descriptors you give them relate the true story (or level). Might be a wish item to have the ability to toggle to hide

I may be experiencing something similar, I have a linked library for objects for this specific work. In the manager everything is there, but when I go and try to load an object only half of the objects are there, no matter how many times i update and reload the library. It is a single work project. Was this something similar to your issue? resolved?


I have loaded one item from the asset library into ArchiCAD. This works fine and have had no issues, however I have had no luck adding any other objects from the asset library. I can open the asset library, pick and place and item - but this is when the item simply doesn't show up in the model. Is there any reason why this would be happening?


I also had a question on managing lighting. Is there a 'for dummies' guide on this somewhere in the wide world of the internet? Looking for something ArchiCAD specific that uses the 'out of the box' library parts. I'm finding the lighting I put in washes out the scene, no matter what settings I change. Thanks!


We are having the same problem here. I am working with enscape 2.5 and archicad 22 in teamwork. I added a few enscape trees serveral weeks ago, but i can no longer add assets now. Thinh's workaround does work for me, but it is not ideal.


Could you briefly elaborate a bit further on what you're referring to with "is not working" exactly? Is this behavior related to this specific thread, or can you maybe simply not use our library due to connection problems? If it's the first, kindly try the short guide provided by Arne above.





The Archicad 25 Library always end up missing, randomly. For example, when I open a teamwork file today everything is okay and is in place but in the next days, the whole library is missing again and what's left would be is the embedded library and another library with the project name and inside are the only library parts currently in use and existing in the model.


This Library Manager Dialog screenshot does not look good. Over 4000 warnings? There should be none, you should resolved all of them as they can cause all kinds of issues from performance issues to display and 2D/3D representation issues (e. g. when multiple versions of the same library part exist within the loaded libraries).


Also, why are PLA files loaded as libraries? That is a bad practice. What kind of library parts are located in those PLA files that are not available in the other libraries? If there are project-specific library parts, those should be in the Embedded Library, not loaded from a PLA.

Hi, i'm having an issue with a client's ArchiCAD in which all of the objects from his default Archicad Library are set with the wrong 2D representation (Contour Pen and Fill). Obviously I am not happy with the last three releases and I have tried to tone down what I write but it is kind of a pain to see that the software that I use, train others and teach in university for the last 20 years (not to mention time spent as user and moderator here, on GDCP and in Betas) is becoming worthless to my practice and teaching.


What is really frustrating is seeing someone trying to rewrite industry standard workflows on data organisation & management (Files / Folders) with something so bad. These workflows have been developed for decades for maximum efficiency yet AC26 seems to have completely ignored so many of the basics. What has been delivered to the user isn't a multiyear project it is a simple rehash of the user interface. I would be very surprised if the latest interface couldn't be reformatted in days if they wanted to do it. The data we are seeing is the same as AC25 just laid out differently. There may be complex restructuring behind the scenes but that isn't our problem, it is for GS to manage and protect that data to suit their future plans. The important part is usability and on that front AC26 has failed badly. And slightly off topic but try using macOS Dark Mode with the attribute settings, three years on and there are still lists that are unreadable due to white text on a white background.





If you observe the Autodesk's behavior on the market vis-a-vis Nemetschek, the trend is to restrict the expansion of its products around the globe, especially Archicad by imposing more conditions that can prevent Archicad, for example, from developing its capability of exchanging with standard platforms using extensions that belong to it. We don't know when it will decide to restrict the .dwg and .rvt extensions as well. Therefore, Nemetschek must act as wisely as possible to avoid greater surprises to its brands' users in the future.

is it just me, or is the licensing not working per the instructions, when i try to follow the instructions, i get stuck at this page can't seem to get archicad started either, just installed and logged in, but then clicking manage license takes me to...


I just started using the trial version of Enscape with Archicad. I'm doing interiors with a focus on light design but quickly found out Enscape has a lot of limitations when it comes to lighting.

Apparently Enscape is only mapped to Archicad's controls of switching the light on/off, light intensity and light color. So changing the light shape or illumination angle in archicad won't do much (if anything) in Enscape.


Would you post a simple example - a .3dm input from archicad, and the same file modified manually to the final point you want to go. The I can help you figure out the required steps to get from A to B.

Hello, can someone explain to me what I am doing incorrectly? I am using the basic engine for my Archicad surface and I have changed settings under the "exposure to Light" category through the surface editor in ArchiCAD. But for some reason, my material will not change in enscape. Attached are screen shots of the surfaces settings, the surface in archicad, and the surface in Enscape. Thanks Erwin for your feedback. I agree with interior v exterior.

Doing an exterior with Cinerender/Redshift engine can look quite good but the problem is the assets, especially the landscape. There is NO library part in AC that renders realistic in regards to Landscape. This is unfortunate, because a lot of the realism comes from the actual environment.

If you have ever done a photomontage, then you know what I mean. Adding a new designed building into an existing photo, even with an average rendering of the building, it actually looks ok.
You render the same building with AC assets (trees, plants, cars, etc) and it will look a lot less appealing, even so you have not changed the buildings rendering quality.


Hi. Eventhough we use a variety of solutions depending on the situation, personally im quite fond of the Cinerender engine. Maybe its because of its straightforwardness and non pretentious interfase. We use it a lot specially for initial stages and quick conceptual images, but wouldnt mind if we could get the most out of it. So yeah, we would find a tutorial for interiors quite useful.

The crashes were happening with Hardware acceleration off too.
OpenGL engine I find is a must if you prefer speed/ fast feedback - IMO.

Great to see this community has mod's like yourself looking out for these posts. (I usually send direct Graphisoft bug reports with ID's).

-> Local Archicad support just distributes the software where I'm based (NZ), so I don't see the point of making them aware as they're not the developers -I imagine this business model will change in time due to inefficiencies.

Thanks to @Erwin Edel in another thread for pointing out this excellent article by architect Svetlana Kravchenko of Russia on some of the many capabilities of the Cinema 4D rendering engine as realized within ARCHICAD as Cineware/Cinerender. The article is based on AC20, so some things have changed, but there are many examples and tips that may help anyone using this built-in rendering engine.


I must admit I don't use it with a brush to paint in the bits I want and don't wand and just super impose the entire black and white thing, but I did notice it is a lot faster than using the ambient occlusion in my colour render pass.


Personally im quite fond of the Archicad render engine, specially the hand drawing engine . I still cant make it go to super realistic stuff (nor intend to), but for some quick renders with an ilustration feel, its great.
