One of three solo works composed at Villa San Michele (Capri, Italy) in 2023, based on art objects from the villa’s collection. This composition was inspired by the two sphinxes at the villa; the bigger 3000-years-old Egyptian one overlooking the Gulf of Naples and the smaller Etruscan one which formerly stood there, but was moved further into the garden when the bigger one took its place. The piece is composed for one flutist playing piccolo flute in the beginning, later changing to alto flute.

An accomplished electronic artist, guitarist and experimental cellist, Liberty's stylistically diverse music and soundscapes have provided the sonic environment for a variety of works across different art forms for more than three decades. This includes performance, film and installation involving collaborations and commissions with numerous artists and production companies. More recently, the study of music theory has engendered an emerging compositional practice investigating and intervening in the terrain between the performer and the ears of the listener. Their compositions engage both the digital and the analogue/organic seeking to explore and exploit the tension between them. The work is particularly engaged with what happens to sound between performance and amplification and the way each live performance becomes part of the composition.  Recent compositions (using the moniker  E.B.Kerr) have been selected and recorded by Veronique Serret, and Frantisek Brikcius. 
Recipient of 2023 Bundanon Artist in Residence Fellowship.

Commissions as composer/sound designer include numerous artists and production companies such as Serious Theatre Collective, Branch Nebula, Rakini Devi, DeQuincey Company, Liz Lea Dance, Urban Theatre Projects, Melbourne Workers Theatre, Film Australia, SBS, ABC, BBC, Belvoir St., Pact Youth Theatre, The Street Theatre, Akira Isogawa, Linda Luke, and Performance Space. Recently they performed with visual artist Nell at Mona Foma and Tina Havelock Stevens at Dark Mofo, Performance Space Live Works,  The Sub Station and Bleach Festival.  Solo electric guitar performance Cementa 2022.
