This month, we have put together this labour of love mix to showcase the delights of the sublime 'Nordic Voyage Recordings' from Iceland who are celebrating their 3rd birthday this month.
Nordic Voyage Recordings is an underground movement dedicated to deep melodic music and culture. They are located in the Arctic Circle, a group of DJ’s, music producers, artists and designers. They are on a voyage and each release continues to astound us with their unbelievable quality and array of talent.
 
In our opinion, it has firmly established itself as one of the leading and most respected deep, organic, melodic house labels around.
 
Hopefully this mix, will give you a feel and flavour for the musical delights of Nordic Voyage Recordings!

This is a recording taken from our Northern re:Exposure Club Night at Divinity, Belfast on Saturday 13th October 2018.

In this early section along with DJ Scotty, we played a great selection of progressive and atmospheric breaks tracks from the mid 90's to 2000.

An old studio mix containing only tracks that were released on the majestic Hooj Choons Records Label.

Many different record labels have influenced my DJ career & music collection over the years, and none more so than Hooj Choons Records.

Some of the biggest house & dance tracks were released on this label between 1995 and 2002, and it has been an absolute pleasure to take a trip down memory lane to put this live mix together.

Between 1995 and 2002 Hooj Choons proved to be one of the more influential labels that pushed the progressive genre into bigger and better places. Veterans in the industry, Hooj was behind some classic releases in that period, noticeably from legend producer Oliver Lieb, Energy 52, Medway, Solar Stone and Tilt just to name a few.

Working together since 2020, they have enjoyed several successful releases to date on labels such as Colour & Pitch, Personal Belongings, 3Bridge Records, Nordic Voyage Recordings, M-Sol Records, Suprematic Sounds, Equilibrio Records, Nicksher Music and Be Adult Music (Ibiza). With a string of releases already scheduled for 2023, it promises to be a bright future for Lenz.
 
Their monthly ‘Night Whisper’ Podcast show combined with their new weekly 'Thru The Looking Glass' show seemed like the natural progression of what they have been doing, and thanks to the help of radio stations like Pure Ibiza Radio, Cafe Mambo Ibiza Radio, Ibiza Global Radio, Bloop Radio London, Boogie Bunker Radio (Tenerife), Estacion Ibiza Radio, Data Transmission Radio, Radio Zoom (Berlin), Graffiti Kings (London) and Like That Underground (Germany), it has developed brilliantly, and helped bring the Lenz sound to all corners of the world. 
 
Atmospheric, raw, and cinematic, Lenz is comfortable taking you on an exciting journey and making you sweat on the dance floor. Never afraid to go too deep, their emotional, dreamy melodies and poetic words will invigorate your mind and soothe your soul.

Having grown up on their individual eclectic combinations of European electronica and synth-infused 80s music … all which became infused with their own love for electronic music, Lenz have ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence. 

Today, after working together closely these last two years, this translates into DJ sets and production releases where they pick apart and infuse together all the pieces of this music that they love best: beautiful synth work, lush backdrops, brooding basslines combined with Moon Aton’s haunting ethereal vocals… all on top of pronounced foot-shuffling house beats and chilled ambient tones. Together they create the very essence of their signature sound, an emotional and organic contrast of dark and bright, deep, cinematic, genre bending styles, rich in melody and emotion.
