Program Notes: Vexation 'The state of being annoyed, frustrated, or worried.' This piece captures a moment of dangerous annoyance. It takes place in a mind which has been pushed completely over the edge of composure. The sound will take you on an exhilarating journey of mental processing. Until you don't find a solution. Or calm. But enough composure to walk through the fire - just cool enough not to get burned, or burn. Still, left steaming. 

This is a midi demo of vexation.

'Thinking Forward, Looking Bach' was commissioned by Footscray-Yarraville City Band (FYCB) to celebrate their 150th Anniversary, premiered at Melbourne Recital Centre on Saturday November 9th, 2024. The work pays homage to J.S. Bach, imitating his style and intertwining a selection of his works. Sheet music can be purchased at www.louisatrewartha.com.au

Track 2 from my upcoming full-length original score for the first book in my fantasy/comedy series 'Horn-Horn'.

A great accompaniment to the book's prologue, we descend through the clouds into the ice kingdom of the Palace of Danube, protected beneath a magical ice dome. Within, the residents sing their national anthem.

Lyrics:

"I lost the will to fight for my cause
When the ogres settled down,
Called this land their own.

I didn’t know where to go,
But then the people, they called me
Back to Danube thus to stay.

Vikings, they ruled our planet

I've been tested by an examiner from the Australian Conservatorium of Music & apparently I have perfect pitch and blessed with the ability to accompany any musician, add hooks to any genre - as a singer I’m not great but who cares thats why most is spoken word.

I have my own style - either you like it or not -  always open for collaborations

🎤I have no fear of perfection - will never reach it 🎧   I don’t have the perfect voice nor am I aiming to be the best I'm only human with a passion for what I love music is in my heart.

Having begun her musical journey at the young age of five with the piano accordion – an instrument initially more of an expectation than a choice, yet one for which she now holds deep gratitude – Heidi-Marie eventually transitioned into the captivating world of electronic music production a few years ago. This discovery led to the gentle retirement of her accordion, making space for her true passion: composing, producing, and sharing her sonic creations with the world. For Heidi-Marie, music is not just a pastime but a lifelong dedication, a constant until her final days.
