As our first club event with the Sounds Worth Sharing crew, we opted for an undersea adventure featuring live visuals from some amazingly talented friends, DIY decorations from prior festivals, and a medley of old friends, new friends, and complete strangers on the dancefloor. This event felt to me like a love letter to the city of San Francisco, conceived by and for our community that lovingly centers strangeness, over-the-top costumes, and plenty of youthful playfulness – but also simultaneously packed with maturity, respect, and passion.

Flashback to 2018, when I first arrived in SF as a 26-year old hungry re-immerse myself in West Coast party culture after years stuck far away from it, I recall walking into the Public Works loft to a random Burning Man camp party (I wish I recalled the name!) and having the best time. Each time I play at Public Works, I think about that perspective, and I sincerely hope that people enjoyed walking into a room full of glowing jellyfish to embark on this reverberated audio-visual journey, and that they made some new connections along the way.
