B E N N - Sirens Bounce [Palestine Fundraiser]

☄ In May, longtime Vief collaborator halle o’malley got in touch with an idea. She’d come across the Instagram of a 17-year old Palestinian musician called Samih, whose life has been torn apart as a result of Israel's recent onslaught on the Gaza strip. Their home was destroyed, Samih and his family were forced to flee to a refugee camp in Rafah. During their displacement, Samih has gone viral posting videos of himself singing and playing a borrowed oud.
 
☄ Having spoken to Samih, Halle planned to sample one of these videos and donate the proceeds from the sales of the track to a gofundme set up for Samih’s family. She approached the label with the idea of turning this project into a compilation akin to previous Vief fundraiser releases.
 
Taipei-based DJ and producer B E N N, who also runs @overmybodytw is one of our favorite producers. Check out this hybrid percussive club banger.

“Hypocrite" is the latest album by Taipei-based producer B E N N, responding to the exploration of humanity into the rapid transformation of society.

He endeavors to structure the chao, transforming the sensations of his surroundings into a multitude of emotional expressions into this album, which is offering a comprehensive collection of works reflecting his personal journey of artistic evolution.

B E N N is an electronic music producer, also the owner of label “ Over My Body”.
His production attempted to reach out the diverse dimensions, with uinque sounds blending into different asian vibes with broken beats. Over the past years B E N N has released several EPs and participated in many compilations from different labels, each showing an evolution of technique.

Terra Magica Rec. is firmly based in Munich and founded by Tom Sprenger and Mirko Hecktor. The spirit of Terra Magica Rec. is to share underground music from heavy, slow and trippy to rough, distinct catchy dance floor oriented rhythms. The label bosses Tom and Mirko operate under their moniker Hektisch Sprengen DJs (In German language the term Hektisch Sprengen basically means blowing up things in a hectic manner). In contrast to this moniker prepare for quite the contrary sound vise: Shimmering synths between mysterious dubiously sounds, dark and slow breakbeat cuts, floaty atmospheric IDM breakdowns and uptempo acid and trance landscapes. In addition to their own solo projects the focus of the label lies on releasing solo projects and various artist compilations drawing from a pool of talented individuals hailing from corners of the globe.
